In Rosamundland, hair is always perfect.
Since the day I was born, I've always had two closets: mine and my identical twin sister's. To this day, I still borrow (and, okay, sometimes steal) pieces from her wardrobe and vice versa. It's an uniquely awesome arrangement, dependent upon our exact-same size, height, and, for the most part, similar style. It's fun to see Danish twin models Amalie and Cecilie Moosgard, pictured here, doing the same thing. Although I can't tell them apart (LOL!), I can clearly discern their mutual fondness for summer whites (Tove dress, third pic down, along with Filipa K Mango and Toteme jeans, below), backless swimsuits-meet-tops (Anemos, pictured below, and also this one), Levi's denim cut-offs, black ATP Atelier cut-out sandals (immediately below) and ballerinas, easy button-downs (this, this, and this), and fitted white t-shirts and perfect tanks. #goals Photos: Amalie Moosgaard Nielsen, Cecilie Moosgaard
In the years since she faced down Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street, Margot Robbie has persuasively staked her claim as far more than a so-called “bombshell,” a characterization that the actress strongly resents. “I’m not someone who walks in a room and the record stops and people turn like, ‘Look at that woman’,” she tells Irina Aleksander in our July cover story. A better word, at least by fellow Aussie Nicole Kidman’s estimation, would be “powerhouse,” and it fits: Next month, she is starring in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (fulfilling a career goal of working with filmmaker Quentin Tarantino) and Robbie’s now five-year-old production company, LuckyChap, has an extraordinary slate of female-fronted films currently in development. Here, in her cover slideshow, see the boundary-breaking star assume a few more roles in evocative looks by Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Michael Kors, Chanel, Versace, Celine, and Burberry. The Gibson Girl: an iconic representation of the beautiful and independent Euro-American woman at the turn of the 20th century. ABOUT GIBSON GIRLS: The drawings of American society by Charles Dana Gibson (1867-1944) defined the age contemporaneously and retrospectively from the 1890s through the early 1900s. His images of women, in particular, were so influential on the development of the American feminine style that the term "Gibson Girls" became part of the lexicon. The Gibson Girl was the personification of the feminine ideal of physical attractiveness. To the artist, she represented a composite of “thousands of American girls.” The Gibson girl’s neck and waist were thin, and her hair piled high upon her head in the contemporary bouffant, pompadour, and chignon fashions. Don't Want To Grow Up - Photographer David Mushegain of Trouble Management shoots fashion models Stella Maxwell and Barbara Palvin in the November 2013 issue
Well I'm off to Jennifer Hayslip's "Once upon a Dream" on Thursday and I am so excited. Meeting new friends and spending time with old friends. We'll be in Asheville, North Carolina where the fields are green, and it actually gets cool at night!! But I've been wondering, what happens, when you try to change a West Texas Cowgirl into a magical Fairy? Will I turn out to be a storybook fairy? Will I earn a magic wand, and a bag of fairy dust? Arg! Or a spooky mean witchy fairy that grows warts and drinks pond scum, a.k.a., generic beer ? I'm taking all my frilly things covered in lace, Magnolia Pearl and then some. A lot of pink, and a lot of ruffles!! So, maybe by the end of the weekend I will have turned into a real live magical fairy! I'll fly through airport security, float into first class and sprinkle magical fairy dust onto all the cranky children. Then I'll fly home on the puffs of a cloud and a candlelight dinner will be awaiting me. Then I'll hear "The pilot will have us landing in 10 minutes, please place your seats in an upright position..." I'll let you know!! I wish you all were going to be here with me!
