The first time I saw these mittens I thought "they just belong around a mug of hot cocoa!" So they finally are and here's the card. Just makes you want to brew up a cup, doesn't it? Once again I tore the edges of Whisper White card stock and embossed it with Northern Flurry before popping it up on Crumb Cake card stock. The delightful mug is stamped in Gumball Green with Early Espresso "cocoa" steaming inside! Real Red mittens embossed with miniature reindeer are accented with Gumball Green Sweater Trim for a cozy feel. Both stamp sets have coordinating punches to make creating simple. Make a Mitten 127940w 127943c And the warm and fuzzy trim? Gumball Green 1/4" Sweater Trim 127838 Now here's something extra fun about this stamp set and punch! How many ways could you use those borders? And look what an amazing person at SU! came up with for the mitten toppers! Turned upside down and embossed and you're ready for spring! Here' what it took to create this little love note. The leaves are the heart punch cut in half.
You've been poking me on how to flip the mittens in this card we shared last week so that you can punch them out instead of cutting them out. We're currently working on a different
I had this card in mind when I made the earlier all white mitten card but had to do a bit of sorting in my stamp studio before uncovering the Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine. I put this together during a...
The trick to get left and right mittens from this punch is to punch one with designer series paper, then flip your paper over, and punch again! I used a sheet from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack, page 20 of the Holiday Catalog. You get 48 (4.5" x 6.5"), 4 each of 12 double sided designs for $6.95, #126904. The punch is on page 11 of the same catalog, #127824, $15.95. I think I got carried away with bling, but, what can I say? Bling is fun! My card base is Bashful Blue with a layer of...

I am so glad you stopped by to take a peek at my blog! I have had "stampin' fever" for over 14 years now and have loved every minute of it! It's a wonderfully contagious disease, but beware... once you catch it, there is no cure!
I've been having fun playing with the NEW Stampin' Up! Mitten Builder Punch and matching stamp set, Make A Mitten. Here's one of the cards I made this weekend. I used Stephanie Leider's Halloween Card Swap as inspiration for today's Mitten Builder card. I loved her color block design and was just waiting for the right images to use it with. I think the Hat & Mittens Punch Art are a perfect fit. Take a look... Today's your lucky day...I'm sharing measurements for everything. I know these color block cards can be stricky to figure out. I'm in a good...
Two cards to share with you today. I'm playing catch-up on several challenges and my first card qualifies for four, count 'em ... FOUR challenges!! :) I started with the colors in SCS Color Challenge this week (CC393 - Lucky Limeade, Primrose Petals, Pink Pirouette) ... and the dessert was to make it a Christmas card. I thought these colors would make cute mittens, so started there. It actually took me longer to figure out how to mount them ... I'm really pleased with the frame and snowflake embossed background - which qualifies this card for Simon Says Challenge - Emboss it! ... and Jingle Belles Challenge - Dashing through the snow. And finally, this is for today's Less is More Challenge (LIM#86 - Take 3 - use three previous challenges). The previous LIM challenges are: #45 - Let it Snow; #55 - Punches or Dies; #77 - Sewing). Whew!! Here's the card ... "Snowy Mittens" Stamps: Season of Friendship (snowflake on mittens) (SU!); Snowman Sayings (Amy R) Paper: White (Neenah); Primrose Petals cardstock (SU!) Ink: Kiwi Kiss - retired, Whisper White (SU!) Accessories & Tools: Big Shot, Mittens die-cut (Sizzix), Snowflakes embossing folder (Cuttlebug), Rectangle nestie (Spellbinders), Honeydew and Blossom twines (The Twinery), white gel pen, glue, sticky strips, and dimensionals I die-cut four of each mitten (one in Primrose Petals cardstock and three in white). I layered two white and the Primrose Petal layers on top using glue. With the remaining white mitten, I cut off just the cuff. I added glue to the front and back of the cuff and wound twine around until it was completely covered. I glued the cuff on top of the mitten. This makes thick, mitten die-cuts that stand out nicely against the embossed background. ____________________ The second card is for this week's Hambo Hoedown Challenge 83 (Zig one Way, Zag the Other - Chevrons!). I just love this bird ... he's the cutest image and makes me smile! :) I got this digi free from Hambo for entering their challenge last week ... that's right, if you enter the challenge, you receive a free digi to use for the next challenge - so fun!! Click on the link above to check out this great challenge site! I also added a googley eye ... so this card qualifies for SCS's Free for All Challenge (F4A135 - The eyes have it!). "Looking Up" Stamps: Bird Balloon (Hambo digi stamp) Paper: White (Neenah); Citron DP (My Mind's Eye) Ink: Copics: YR07, R17 Accessories & Tools: Crystal Effects, googley eye, glue I added Crystal Effects to the balloon to make it shiny and then paper pieced it onto my card front. Quick and easy CAS card! ____________________ Finally, I've had some happy news over the past week. My Piles of Fun card received an Honorable Mention on the Addicted to Stamps challenge blog. And my Delicate Branches won as Headliner on the Paper Players challenge blog ... and also was in the SHOWcase at the Less is More challenge blog. Woo Hoo!! Great challenges ... click on the links to see these fabulous challenge blogs and join in!! And, last, but not least, my name was picked and I won $25 shopping at Clear Dollar Stamps for participating in their September Blog Hop ... just loved all the wonderful creations from the Design Team - it was fun!! Thank you to CDS ... I'll be shopping soon! :)
It may not be frosty cold here in California, but we still have occasions to wear mittens in the cool nights. :) I thought these adorable mittens from Stampin' Up! were so cute and wanted to feature them in a fun card for you today! I was originally inspired by a card done by Barbara Strauss Nagle, and put my own twists on it. I stamped the background with Pool Party ink on Whisper White cardstock using the Marbled background stamp (pg 165 2017 Annual Stampin' Up! catalog), and then embossed it with the Winter Wonder snowflake

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Product Spotlight" challenge. Today's challenge is any Stampin' Up! Holiday Product and I selected the Smitten Mitten Bundle. Specifically, the Many Mittens Framelits Dies. Last month at the Creative Connections Event, we were fortunate to have Carrie Cudney from the Stampin' Up! home office shared a fun presentation using the Smitten Mitten Bundle. One of the most adorable projects she featured was a fun mini penguins punch art tag. I knew I wanted to give it a try. I put the small ones together and I guess I...
