{image via} Every year around this time, I have the major summer itch. School is almost out and even the nights are warm. I’m ready for cool drinks by the water and summery nights lit up by fireflies. There’s magic to be found in the long summer days. And of course, I always like to style my home for the seasons. This year, I have the perfect excuse to ready my house for summer. Next week, I’ll be participating in Gina of The Shabby Creek Cottage’s Summer Tour of Homes. I feel honored to be sharing my summer home along with 24 AMAZING other bloggers! Summer decorating can be a little more difficult than other seasons, I think. I mean fall and Christmas is a bit obvious, though I love some out of the box holiday decor. For summer, I’m hoping to create a home that feels fresh and really evokes […]

The Coastal Cowgirl aesthetic is the hottest trend of Summer 2023! It's casual, beachy, and the perfect touch of southern cowgirl charm.
When the temperatures in Provence get too much to handle, as they did a couple of weeks ago, it can be hard to know what to do with yourself. The mercury rises, the breeze dies leaving you hardly able to breathe, never mind move or think. But I know a great little place to cool off. […]
“I walked far down the beach, soothed by the rhythm of the waves, the sun on my bare back and legs, the wind and mist from the spray on my hair . . . And then home, . . . full to the brim with my day alone.” —from Gift From The Sea As free as the bird that swoops over the gentle, rhythmic waves that skim the sand, so are those who visit the beach . . . here, […]

Imagine the warmth of a summer's breeze as it whispers across the vibrant landscape of Seilebost Beach, Isle of Harris. This evocative print captures the essence of a Scottish summer on the Hebridean shores, where the harmony of land, sea, and sky converges in a symphony of colour. Beautifully adopting the Impressionist style, the visual narrative unfolds through a series of bold, expressive brushstrokes that dance across the canvas, inviting the viewer to a world where the tangible meets the intangible. The composition basks in the glow of a bright, highland sun, as the azure blues of the ocean playfully contrast with the golden hues of the sandy beach. Gentle waves lapping at the shore add a rhythm to the scene, while the distant rolling hills, cloaked in a tapestry of purples and blues, stand as silent custodians of the tranquil coast. The shoreline is peppered with delicate flecks of wildflowers, where shades of orange, pink, and yellow bloom amidst the soft, undulating grasses. Each petal and blade tell a tale of growth and vitality, thriving under the watchful gaze of fluffy white clouds that drift lazily in a cerulean sky. An embodiment of serene beauty, this piece from our 'Scotland in Summer' collection invites you to lose yourself in the serenity of Hebridean splendour, bringing the peace and charm of Seilebost Beach into your home or office. Whether seeking a moment of calm or yearning for the wild Scottish outdoors, this print offers a window to a summer's day you can revisit time and time again.
It's okay if you didn't check everything off your summer bucket list.
