By combining the intricate Crossed Loops stitch with its asymmetrical shape, the Chubasco Shawl is and unexpected challenge to knit, but so rewarding. Knitted shawls is a real must have during bad weather, but in addition to the protective function it can also looks elegant and stylish!
Pattern available in English and in German. Englische und deutsche Anleitung verfügbar. The Claudia Shawl is a simple triangular shawl, worked sideways. The shape is achieved by working increases only at one edge. Color changes and stripes in combination with some slipped stitches create the check pattern effect. Once you grasp the stitch pattern, it becomes an absolutely mindless knit. The pattern is written for using four different colors, but it can be easily adapted for a different number (or even for a single background color with only the small stripes in one or more contrast colors) without losing the check pattern effect. The pattern includes instructions how to do this. Approx. yardage: 400 g fingering-weight yarn; between 1300 m/1422 yds to 1500 m/1641 yds. Sample shown in Wool of Fame “WOF Yak Mix Fine” (366 m/100g), using 90 g “Espresso” (color A), 88 g “Taupe” (color B), 88 g “Marsala” (color C), 98 g “Rosenholz” (color D). Oh I have a new pattern for you! The Textured […]
This is a triangular shaped shawl, worked in one piece, from the top down. Casting on requires using the garter tab cast on method, for which I have provided a tutorial link.Instructions for this shawl are provided in both written and charted format. The chart is easy to read and ideal for knitters who haven’t followed a chart before. This shawl is perfect for beginners to shawl knitting and also lace knitting too. The design for this shawl was inspired by my Skoosh! Shawl. After completing Skoosh!, I wanted to design a second shawl that would include a little bit of lace pattern. The thought of knitting lace can be slightly daunting to most new knitters, but this is a very straight forward lace pattern to follow: there are only four rows in this pattern repeat and only one of these four is a lace pattern row.
Flowers of Winter is a beautiful winter shawl, warm and comforting. It’s a large top-down triangle and super relaxing to knit. This DK weight shawl features simple and delicate lace in a flower-like motif. You work your way through garter stitch stripes and Quatrefoil Eyelet pattern, alternating the two. The lace blocks keep on growing as the shawl grows. You’ll love knitting it! YARN Three skeins of baa ram ewe Dovestone DK (100% wool; 230 m / 252 yds per 100 g). Shown in colour Heathcliff. Will your next shawl be bottom-up or top-down? I couldn’t decide either, so I designed Dewdrops, a shawl that incorporates both. First, a centre triangle with simple eyelet patterning is knitted from the bottom up and bound off. Then, stitches are picked up for a lace rib border that is knitted from the top down with a contrasting colour. Each side of the lace rib has a beautiful and slightly different look. Dewdrops was designed with speckled and slightly variegated yarns mind, and the centre triangle with its droplet pattern is especially well-suited for them. Match that with a more solid colour for the border, and you’ve got a beautiful shawl. YARN La Bien Aimée Merino Singles (100% Merino; 366 m / 400 yds per 100 g). It’s totally off - 50%! Because … cold outside! It’s a perfect shawl for lace beginners, easy to make and cozy to wear. I knitted this version in DK weight yarn and it worked up quickly. Two version are given in the pattern but you can easily adjust the number of repeats to make a shawl to suit you and your yarn. The patterns are easily memorized and quick to knit, but the large lace motifs and garter border make for a gorgeous and eye-catching combination. Shawl is classic top-down shawl, wich is worked in one piece and consists of two identical triangles, with a single spine stitch running down the center. Lacy blooms growing within diamond motifs. Most of your shawl you will be increasing 4 stitches every right side row: one st on the right edge, two stitches in the center and one stitch on the left edge. Shawl begins with Garter Tab cast on and followed by a lace stitch pattern with a big swath of garter stitch at the end. Also, at the end you have the option to add big tassels. You get two shawl instructions: One (grey with mustard tassels) is knitted with DK yarn and large Garter St border and Two (yellow) knitted with Sport weight yarn and finished after lace part This pattern is fully written and also includes charted instructions. You can easily adjust the number of repeats to make a shawl to suit you and your yarn. You can repeats Part B (repeating lace part) as many times as you like. You can also work more or less repeats of The Garter Section to add more or less garter to the border. Yarn: 8,5 skein of Drops Lima in colorway Grey or 926 yards (850m) other DK weight yarn. Needles: 4mm (US 6) circular needles 32“ (80cm). Or whatever size needles it takes you to get right gauge Other tools: 4 stitch markers, tapestry needle, blocking tools (maths and spins) Size: 77“ (195cm) measured along the wingspan; 37“ (94cm) measured down the center spine. Gauge: 19 sts and 26 rows = 4“ (10cm). Measurement taken from relaxed fabric after lace-blocking. I would like to thank my wonderful testers.
