Balancing a composition involves arranging both positive elements and negative space in such a way that no one area of the design overpowers other areas. Everything works together and fits together in a seamless whole. The individual parts contribute to their sum but don’t try to become the sum. An unbalanced composition can lead to tension. In some projects, unbalanced might be right for the message you’re trying to communicate, but generally you want balanced compositions. However, design principles aren’t hard and fast rules. They’re guidelines. There’s no one right way to communicate that two elements are similar or different, for example. You don’t need to follow any of these principles, although you should understand them and have a reason for breaking them.

Refract offers two starting points for the exploration of fabric and geometry. Working the oversized scarf version in quick-knitting Quarry results in a beautifully light and airy fabric; the reversible lace motif is reflected down the center of the scarf to produce a striking symmetrical composition. Working the wrap version in polished Arbor results in sleek and springy drape; four columns of the reversible motif highlight its crisp stitch pattern transitions. Simple double moss and garter stitch edge treatments keep the selvedges of both versions clean without detracting from the main body’s bouncing rays of texture. An abstract of a tree I photographed for my film photography class. I used a slow shutter speed, something around 1/30th, and a high aperture. I pointed the camera at a tree and rotated it while pressing the button shutter down.

Furniture in two elements, composed in the lower part of a chest of drawers whose movement facade is richly ornamed. Three drawers from different heights are decorated with marquetry on a developed mahogany tackle background. On each drawer, an important symmetrical composition of light wood, shapes, foliage and flowers. This set is surrounded by two lemon nets. The print is made using branch handles with openwork plate, made up of scrolls and foliage. In the center of each drawer, a large finely carved entry underlines the passage of the key (posterior) activating the original lock, in operating condition. On each side of the drawers, we observe two important events in the shape of S. These are also adorned with beautiful inlays of light wood forming plant patterns and oval friezes. The sides of this chest of drawers are also decorated with a marquetry composition with vase and plants. This dresser has in the lower part of an ordered crosspiece embellished with a sculpture appearing an ancient profile in an medallion. The whole rests on two feet claws blackened at the front. The upper part is made up of a glass door, the setting of which is encrusted with a rosary of flowers. On each side, the cut clovers, the top of which is in basket handle, encrusted with plant patterns. Inside, we find two wooden shelves blackened like the rear and the bottom. This high element rests on a slightly curved protrusion base and is topped with a cornice in gendarme hat with marked hollow part, protruding in probe up and inlaid. This rare piece of furniture is in excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. However, it should be noted a central crack on each side of the dresser. Mandala art is a form of intricate and symbolic geometric design that originated in various cultures around the world, including Hinduism and Buddhism. The term "mandala" is derived from the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit, meaning "circle." These artworks typically consist of a central point surrounded by symmetrical patterns, creating a circular composition. Mandala art often features intricate details and repetitive patterns that radiate outward from the center. These patterns can include geometric shapes, flowers, animals, and other symbolic elements. The circular form of a mandala represents unity, eternity, and the cyclical nature of life. I create mandalas using various mediums, including paper, canvas. I find solace and a sense of inner balance through the act of creating or contemplating these visually captivating and harmonious artworks. Mandalas are not only aesthetically pleasing but are also imbued with cultural, religious, and psychological significance, making them a versatile and meaningful form of artistic expression.
