"[Nancy's wardrobe] has a really sweet, feminine edge to it. It’s not the crazy ‘80s fashion. It feels a little more real. One thing I love about 80s fashion is everything is high waisted, which is...
I have been obsessed with working on my sweet william blocks and loving it.. Here are my latest blocks. I only have one left to applique and then I will need to decide how much longer to continue this love affair. Whether to stop it at 20 or keep going. I don't really want a huge quilt just a lap size quilt would do, so I have some thinking to do. This block wasn't included in the patterns but was one of the blocks that was on the original 1800's quilt. I managed to draw it freehand and make it up. I was happy to try to incorporate some of the original blocks that weren't used in the modern pattern. the original quilt had a block with pomegranates on it so with some help from the internet I found a design that had pomegranates that transferred well to my basket I really enjoyed this block, a chance to use my favourite purples and some special green fabrics too. This has to be one of my favourites.... It looks a little wonky in the photo but it is a little more even in real life. Loving it! Now that these are done I thought I should get back to my Park Avenue hexies quilt. I thought I was only half way through the quilting but to my surprise I had actually quilted three quarters of the quilt. Woo hoo bonus!! I am feeling quite enthused and keen to get this done. the quilting is a little over the shop and I foolishly backed it in a red fabric that is very unforgiving with my uneven stitches but at least it looks acceptable on the front, I just won't show anyone the back. It's been wonderful to snuggle under this especially seeing as the weather has turned quite cold at night. Here's to a great weekend! hope you all have a good one too. I'm off to snuggle some more and quilt my little fingers off. happy days Marina
Wellicht in m'n nieuwe huis, je-weet-maar-nooit.

Seems like my blog has become a little neglected again, this doesn't mean a lack of crafting though. Progress has been achieved on most of my ongoing projects I'm happy to say though not has quickly as I would like. Just need more hours in the day I'm afraid. Latest row of the zoo quilt has been done, a plan has been hatched and implemented for the sweet Kathy Schmitz stitcheries and that has involved some fabric hunting, one of my favourite sports. Would you like to see ? I am using up leftover background fabrics and also my small stash of leftover Liberty fabrics. I did need to do some buying to add to my stash as it didn't have enough variety. Thankfully GJ's sell and cut down to a 25"square so this was not an exorbitant expense and I could pick lots of styles. These dresdens were left over from a quilt I made a little while ago that I ended up gifting to a lovely work friend. Now I will get a version to keep-well that is the plan lol. So it seems this is becoming a real leftovers quilt, you have to feel good about that. A peek at some of the later stitcheries that were completed.... Christmas has been on my mind too.. This little pillow got finished. Poor thing was the last of the set that was just hidden in a drawer. But he's done now and ready for Christmas. I got to go to a lovely sit and sew day at Kilmore quilters and there was a little retail therapy had. This little ornament kit came home with me and was completed in my Festive flurry. There were plans to make more but I think this will do for now. Well that is it for me for now. Hopefully I will not leave it so long to make a post. Next post I will share the updates on my zoo quilt and Tilda quilt. Both are on the home stretch. Happy days Marina PS stay tuned for some Elf antics as the time is drawing near for their arrival!! There have been some new purchases for this year's antics. I think I really need an intervention lol. Take care.

I figured we could use some pretty quilts to put our minds to something other than the tragedy. See what I mean.......they are ALL stunning quilts! Incredible workmanship, lovely designs; it was such an amazing show! We'll definitely be going back every year! Well, I'm heading out to the airport to pick up our son. :o) I don't know how much blogging I'll be able to get in between now and Christmas, so I'm wishing everyone a very merry Christmas. I hope you get to spend time with your families, or time doing something you love. And I really hope you eat lots of pie! :o) regan
Fundamentalist Muslim women and fundamentalist Jewish women have a lot in common. Both groups live under the forced rules of ancient, male-controlled religious legal systems that place extreme emphasis on women’s body cover as the supreme symbol of righteousness and community purity. In conversations I have had with Muslim feminists over the years, the similarities...
