Last Friday, Mark, my sisters, and I attended Country Summer, a super-fun local country music festival. To be totally honest with you, I was just as excited about what I was going to wear as I was about the actual music (but isn’t that how these things always are?!). As most of you already know, comfortable shoes are KEY at a festival. You’re pretty much walking everywhere, so it’s super important to rock shoes that you can wear for hours on end – while still looking stylish, of course. With comfort in mind, I opted for these super-cool Teva’s, and built the rest of my outfit around them. I added an adorable dress by Amuse Society (which unfortunately is not in stores yet, but I love this one which is very similar), this Madewell wishbone necklace, an anklet from Shopbop, and completed the look with a pop of color courtesy of this fringe crossbody by B-Low The Belt. It's seriously the most comfortable thing I own (the dress has become my fav chillin-at-home piece) while still feeling very feminine and sensual. The silhouette totally gives me a throwback to being a kid and playing dress up in training bras and silk shawls pretending to be a Gypsy queen or a Grecian goddess. Based on the size chart I picked a XL, but I could have easily ordered a L or even an M because the top part has a lot of stretch to it. Great dress to wear sans bra btw, the shirring keeps everything neatly in place and doesn't show any nip. I'm always on the lookout for airy summer clothes that don't need a bra to look good. I styled it by doing my hair half-up a la Ariana Grande, and finishing the look with my Teva flatforms. Those shoes seriously make every outfit look cool. The end result is very 90s-does-70s alt girl, somewhere between hippie and raver and I love it. Hope you do too!
