Modern 3d beaded embroidery artwork Oblivion. Part of my Mossy Dreamworld collection. All my embroideries celebrate the beauty of lichen. That is my way to express my deepest admiration for it and bring humans closer to our roots. This particular art was created using preserved moss, handmade clay beads, wool yarn, embroidery floss and Czech glass beads. For the background I chose beautiful dusty gray wool to give this artwork even more depth. All embellishments are hand placed, bead by bead. It took me about 5h to create this artwork. This embroidery art will be made to order, so it will look as close as possible to the one on the pictures. But keep in mind, that hand embroidered art will always have a unique flair. ♥ DETAILS ♥ - 4 inch vintage looking embroidery hoop - wool background - handmade clay beads - DMC embroidery thread - wool yarn - Preserved moss - Czech glass beds - One of a kind design - Ready for display - Stitched with love in California - Every item in my shop comes lovely packed as you can see on the picture ♥STYLE TIP♥ You can style your wall art with dried flowers, ribbon or green leaves to add more dimension. Or pair it with another hoop in the same style for bold statement. ♥ INFORMATION ♥ All my items are designed and hand embroidered in small quantities. Inspired by the colours of fungus found on a local walk, and the textures and shapes of lichen, this piece is a richly detailed piece of work. Full of texture and depth, it has taken around 10 hours of intense stitching. The starting point is some gorgeous Irish linen used as a base. Layered over this is open weave linen that I have ecodyed in my kitchen with red onion skins. Using a limited palette of threads and colours, I make hundred of tiny stitches over the surface. Under the layer of open weave linen is a curtain ring, that I sew over and around to create a third dimension. There's french knots, bullion, buttonhole loops and woven picots creating the effect of layers that you see in lichen and moss. Threads used are embroidery floss, silks and natural cottons each giving a different quality to the stitches. The overall size of the mounted artwork is 9x6.5cm. The artwork is attached to and framed by acid-free mount board. Please note that this is NOT a framed piece of work.
