My youngest daughter turned 3 this month. She was insisting that she needed a pink haired baby with paci (she totaly fell in love with the baby from the Storks Movie, which we ended up whatching in the Movies 3 times...) I had promised her I would make her one for her birthday, and she watched closely her baby being born (not without nagging and crying, oh my!) And today was the big day! Pink baby is finally born! Her mama named her "De Cabelo Rosa" (With Pink Hair). I am calling her Rosa for short ;) Let me tell you -oh boy!- Rosa is n.a.u.g.h.t.y. She wouldn't sit still for pictures. She climbed the chair and turned upside down, almost fell on the floor. She will sure keep her mama busy! Welcome to the world baby De Cabelo Rosa!

Aisli doesn't like to be left alone. I hope her mama is able to carry her around, because, oh boy, that's the only way to make her happy. Good thing is, being such a tiny baby, she isn't all that heavy. And to tell you the truth, once you pick her up she giggles so tenderly and melts into your arms with such cuteness, that you are the one who won't want to place her in her crib! Aisli already has a family. ♥ She goes home with a fitted diaper, a pair of stylish boots, a dress, two bonnets and a cardigan. For night time, she also has a pair of comfy pants and a linen diaper shirt. #waldorfinspired #slowdollmaking #artdoll #naturalfiberartdoll #thalitadol

You know, doll babies learn to speak younger than real babies do. Their voices are toddler like and it takes a mama to understand what they say. Yuna is quite talkative. And she knows I can understand her well. She has quite a surprising taste for fashion for such a young little soul and knew very well what she wanted for her wardrobe. The thing is she kept sharing her wishes in homeopathic doses. Just one shirt. Now a onesie. Please, a pair of tights. A romper for play dates. May I have a bonnet? May a have a hair bow? Of course, pajamas! A party dress !(she'll have lots of siblings and friends in her new house, she swears there are gonna be parties!), something comfy, something fancy... A long list of wishes! So demanding this one! Yuna is custom made. She is preemie size (fits into preemie clothes). She can't wait to meet her mama and siblings! She'll go home with all the clothes she requested: diapers, tights, a linen kimono pajama shirt with soft pajama pants with leather patches, a peasant shirt, play time romper, party dress, bloomers, crochet shoes with leather soles, socks, crochet cardigan, crochet bonnet, hair bow and hair clips #waldorfinspired #slowdollmaking #artdoll #naturalfiberartdoll #thalitadol #babydoll #naturalfiberbabydoll

♥ --------------- Three years ago my baby brother was born just to give us a quick kiss and go straight to Jesus's arms. (you can read about it here) More than a year ago my mom asked me for a doll in his memory so she could hug. Took me a time to empty my missing of him from all the sadness and fill it with only gratitude for his brief time on earth. When time arrived I finally felt I could craft this special doll and fill it with only the purest and best feelings of my big sister heart and make my mom's wish come true. Baby JD got lots of hugs from me while he was being made. Hugs of love for the little one that I miss, hugs of joy for the pure existence of my real baby brother, who couldn't stay with us but will be loved forever. I hope that the JD doll will help to warm my mom's arms just a little bit. ♥
-------------------------------- My new babies are ready! They were just born. Sweet and special, they are delicate, cuddly and huggable. Meet Amora and Avelã, "Aconchego" babies (Aconchego is portuguese for cuddly, warmth, cozy). They both have 100% cotton double knit skin and are stuffed with clean, sweet smelling, sheeps wool from the south of Brazil. They are weighted in the bum, head, arms and legs with clean craft gravel sand inside little cloth bags (there are no plastic pellets here in Brazil). They weight a little more than 2 pounds each. The pattern for their body is based on the Sandy Eding's "preemie doll pattern", with a few changes here and there. And the head is formed in a waldorf way, and than soft sculpted. They are real works of art and ther will never be others quite like them. Each baby have ten little fingers stuffed with wool and pipe cleaners for posing, and ten perfect little piggy toes. -------------------------------- Avelã was born first. She is a sweet and mellow baby who loves to sleep wrapped on her red blanket. ---------------------------------------- Avelã's arms and legs are atatched with plastic doll joints. Her hair is a soft mohair wig in golden blond and can be gently brushed. ------------------------------------------ If you want to see more pictures of Avelã, CLICK HERE And this is Amora, a happy baby who gives you the most sweet baby smiles! -------------------------------------------- Amora's arms and legs are floppy, atatched in a rag doll style. She has no plastic joints and her legs easily assume a cute froggy position. Her hair is a crochet wig made of sheeps wool and than brushed. This was my first successful attempt at crochet (after many MANY desastrous ones), and I'm quite pleased with the result! -------------------- If you want to see more pictures of Amora, CLICK HERE. -------------------------------- This is a big mash up of all my sewing from the days I wasn't able to write. To start, some "Saturday Dresses". The one above was an attemp on something with an apron. I wanted to make something like that for ages, but for some reason I never before got a color combination that pleased me. Sometimes a simple project gets stuck in my head. Usually because of some color related issue. I just don't get it right. Well, I've finally managed to put together something that looked good! I think it all turned out really cute. Below, a dress that was refashioned. Maybe you've seen the previous version. it used to have a brown fabric on the top portion, but that fabric faded greatly, leaving the dress with a not so pleasing look... ---------------------------------------------- The kitty dress was made for Lilla's real birthday (not the party). On that day I baked some cake and had our family over to sing her a "happy birthday". I wanted to dress her on something cat related but simple and fresh. ------------------------------------ The Hoodies I've made specially for our San Francisco trip. The gray one is all cotton fabric, and the red one is lined with some cozy fleece, to endure SF's cold days. The were made using this pattern. Even the gray one. I just altered here and ther to get a different look. Essa segunda tentativa me deixou bem feliz, pois ficou alegre e colorida. O tecido da frente é da minha coleção no Spoonflower! Quem quiser, pode comprar lá! -------------------------------------------- Oh, and this is Lilla's backpack to go to school! It was my second attemp on the pattern (Rae's pattern here). The first one had a cute japanes mermaids fabric, but I've made some mistake while putting it together. Than it teared in a couple months of use. The second attemp looks prettier though, and more sturdy. Lilla chose a fabric from my Spoonflower colection to be on the front! If you want some, head over to Spoonflower and grab yours! -------------------------------------------- Pants were also made for the trip. Pattern here. ---------------------------------- Twirly skirts, just as Lilla loves them. No elastic here, but a rib knit band instead. It makes the skirts soft and comfy as can be! ----------------------------------------- And a Baby Monster! I'm always looking around for cute vintage doll patterns. The last one I've bought had soft sculpting instructions. And as a certain beloved boy's birthday was coming around, I had the idea of trying out the new pattern altering it to make a green Baby Monster. His name is Azeitona (portuguese for olive) and he is still here with me, awaiting for his new daddy. E a deixei carequinha. ------------------------------- And at last, my newest little love: Maria. Lilla named her, but she is actually mine! She has an important job, she'll be my helper on my new project (I'll tell you about that soon!). She is a mix of a Waldorf Doll and a Soft Sculpted Doll. And the first doll I've ever made with real wool roving filling. Because of that, she has such a delicious cozy warm feel to her. My favorite doll ever. I made up a way for her to be bald but with no big sewing lines showing in her head skin. ---------------------------------------- Oh my... Sewing is definetly one of the things that make me happy in life! =) I enjoy the process of sewing, I enjoy the results, I enjoy dressing Lilla up in cute dresses made with love in every thread knot. I really enjoy seeing my baby girl tenderlly play mother with a doll I made her with all my heart. I feel so gratefull, God is sooooooo Good! He gave me gifts of love out of His Mercy, and there are not enough "Thak Yous" to be said. I love you, my Lord! (and for the ones that like dolls like me, stay tuned. I'm planning to put a couple in my store in a week or two!)
