I’ve been seeing this stacked fishtail and mini braid combo everywhere! Since it’s always in the back of my mind I thought it’d be fun to share how I would style it. Headband braids are such a great way to add a little something extra to your favorite curls or waves. For this look I decided to flat iron mine and really love how easily it dressed up my straight locks. This type of braid would also transition easily into a handful of other hairstyles. If there’s another version that you’d love to see in a tutorial then be sure to let me know in the comments section below! Stacked Fishtail and Mini Braid Supplies: Paddle Brush Straightener 2-4 Bobby pins Hair sectioning clip 1 Clear elastic band Medium-hold hairspray Stacked Fishtail and Mini Braid Instructions: Preparation: For this hairstyle I started by brushing through clean hair before running a straightener over the hair to smooth down any natural waves. Step 1 / Start by parting the hair on the right side. Then divide off a small section on the heavy side of the part, about 1″ back from the hairline, and braid this section into a three strand braid. Step 2 / Criss-cross two bobby pins over the end of the braid and clip it out of the way. Step 3 / Pick up a 2″ section of hair directly under the previous and create a dutch fishtail braid. Continue bringing in hair until it reaches the temple. Then continue the braid down to the ends. Step 4 / Go back through the braid and pull on the edges to make it wider and more full. Step 5 / Wrap the braid around the back of the head. Divide off a small section of hair underneath the top hair of the crown. Tie the braid to this small section with an elastic band. Step 6 / Let down the original three strand braid and lay it right over the center of the fishtail braid. Step 7 / Pin the mini braid where the fishtail braid ends. Lay the hair from the crown over the ends to hide it. Step 8 / Spray the style with hairspray to set it. Smooth down the sides of the braid to lay down any flyaways.

Bridal season is coming up so I thought it’d be fun to share a fancy high bun hairstyle. This was inspired by a picture I saw on pinterest and love how it turned out. The bun can be a little intimidating but it’s definitely doable with a bunch of mirrors so you can see every angle of the style as you go. I hope you give it a try and love it as much as I do! xo, Missy Mini Braid Wrapped High Bun Supplies: Rattail comb Hair band Bobby pins Medium-hold hairspray Mini Braid Wrapped High Bun Instructions: Step 1 / First divide out a circular section of hair at the crown and tie it off with a hair band. Step 2 / Now take a section of hair from the ponytail and braid it into a regular three strand braid down to the ends and cross a bobby pin over the bottom so it doesn’t unravel. Step 3 / Next take a small section from the ponytail, twist it slightly and then pin it against the head around the hair band. Step 4 / Repeat those steps until all of the ponytail is pinned into little twists around the hair band. Some tips to keep in mind for this portion is to take small enough sections that they’ll pin down easily. Keep the sections close together and focus on creating some symmetry with each section. Step 5 / Now begin pinning the hair left down around the ponytail. So separate out small sections, bring them up to the top of the head and pin them in place. Step 6 / Then create little loops with the ends of each section and secure them in place with bobby pins. Step 7 / Repeat those steps, working around the head until all of the hair is pinned up. Step 8 / Now take the braid that was created at the start and wrap this around the left side of the bun and secure it in place with a bobby pin.
