Is there anything more breathtaking and surreal than outer space? Often, I feel like there absolutely isn't. Maybe it's because of all the celestial masterpieces stars, galaxies, and planets paint, effortlessly sweeping us off our feet? Or maybe we feel this way about space because it's something we can't touch, tame, or change? Or perhaps, it's because of that nostalgic feeling you get when it's a warm summer night and you raise your head and look up at the sky and all the stars simultaneously remind you of how truly small you are (but in the best way possible)?
The moon and stars in the night sky, I stare at them with longing. Those two things represent everything I dream of. This is my outlet, these are my dreams. It isn't much to some, but it is everything to me.
The night sky is something that many visitors to Rocky Mountain National Park will miss. Little do they know the beauty overhead and solitude that the park provides in the late hours. I frequently hike in or out in the dark for my photos and as a result I have been blessed to see the park at night. There is a certain peace to the park at night that you don't get in many places. I had this spot next to Lake Irene all to myself on this night. I was standing there quietly soaking it all in, waiting for those clouds to dissipate, when I heard a noise in the woods coming towards me. I lit up my headlamp to see a black bear looking at me. LOTS of noise later the bear sauntered off down towards the end of the trail. I made an executive decision that the clouds would do and took this photo. Second star to the right...and straight on till morning. Or better yet. Take the photo, pack it up, hike back to the 4Runner and let the bear enjoy the beauty and solitude without me :) This print is printed on FujiColor Crystal Archive Deep Matte by a company here in the United States. It is a professional grade photo paper. Soft and velvety to the touch, non reflective and with elegant color reproduction.

I'm Alex, an amateur 37-year-old photographer. I love stories and I love telling them using my pictures. During my long sickness this year (not covid) I had very little time to shoot. I only made a few shots this year and mostly edited them in the hospital to kill some time. The good thing is I had a lot of time to improve some older shots of mine, and here is the result that I’d like to share with all of you, Pandas!
