First of all, with my love of all things home, this movie gets me the minute that the “kids” returning home pull into the driveway of this lovely New England home. Do you see my obsession? At the time however, it was considered an event of some significance. Rolling Stone dedicated a two-page spread to the event, and—this is utterly crazy—the normally staid and upper-middlebrow New Yorker ran a lengthy report (“A Reporter at Large”) by one of their most esteemed writers, George W.S. Trow, that spanned a whopping eleven pages. (Trow’s 1978 report Within the Context of No Context, which was published as a book in 1981, is considered by many to be one of the essential nonfiction accounts of the 1970s—I wasn’t so fond of it.) The title of Trow’s piece was “The Biggest Event This Year”—it has to have been meant at least a little ironically. Defleshing of human bones has been observed in the archaeological record in various places around the world, including Turkey, the Philippines, Bolivia and Italy, all reported by Ancient Origins (see below).

Each stone/rock is 2"-3" and varies in color and shapes. Each stone is engraved with the family's individual names. I can also engrave a word or two on them. One of the pictures has several stones engraved with a name and heart which is being given out to family and friends in memory of a precious one that passed away. They are $5 each. It is deeply engraved using a sandblaster. I then paint the engraving with two coats of black paint. I then seal it with three coats of all weather protectant sealant.
