In a 1-qt. glass jar, layer the flour mixture, cocoa, sugar, brown sugar, M&M's and baking chips. Cover and store in a cool dry place for up to 1 month. Makes about 4 cups total. Attach a recipe card with ingredients and baking directions. Be sure to include listing additional ingredients not in jar; 3/4 cup butter, 2 eggs, 1-1/2 tsp vanilla Baking Directions: In a large bowl, beat the butter, eggs and vanilla until well blended. Add contents of jar and beat just until combined. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets; flatten slightly with a glass. Bake at 350° for 9-11 minutes or until set. Remove to wire racks to cool. Store in an airtight container. Makes 2-1/2 dozen.

In fifth grade students must be able to interpret figurative language, including similes and metaphors, in context. It is in these grades students build a solid foundation and understanding of figurative language to use throughout middle school and high school. This product will allow students to practice identifying and writing similes and metaphors in a fun way…with music! You can print a packet for each child or each page individually.
