Include these animal themed pattern block puzzles in your preschool unit study! This listing is for 49 printable animal themed patterns that you can use the available cutout tangram to make the animals. 1 page of tangram shapes to cutout and if you like laminating would make them very nice and reusable. There is also 3 pages that have the solutions to all 49 animals. If you have the wooden blocks in tangram shape those are also very fun to make all these awesome animals. To make your puzzles more durable, I suggest you print on card stock and laminate them. Block pattern puzzles are a classic math manipulative and learning activity. Great for spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and problem solving. They also teach children three and older matching and sorting skills, color recognition, geometric shapes, counting, and beginning math skills. Fitting the pieces onto the puzzles helps develop fine motor skills, concentration, and memory. Animals that are included are camel, swan, bird, cat, pig, dog, penguin and a lot more that your child can have fun making. Blacked out animals are how the puzzle looks . The colored animals are the solved version of the puzzle. Blacked out and Colored animals are for reference and are not the same size as the puzzle pieces. Shapes include triangles, trapezoids, and squares. Also included is my newest version of the animal tangrams that are in black and white so printing will be a lot friendlier and tangram pieces that are closer to size of the animals. Print as many times as you'd like!

Hello Everyone! It is so nice to have time to put some finishing touches on a couple of units that we have coming up! Another historical figure we will study after Eleanor Roosevelt is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As a nation we celebrate his life daily! Thank you Dr. King! Officially we celebrate on the third Monday of January. I have posted about our activities before, but I went through and cleaned up, and added to my unit. Here are some pics from the updated unit! If you would like the 30 page free printable unit CLICK HERE!! :) My second offering for today is a unit our curriculum team worked on this summer. We had fun integrating reading and social studies and are finding it a natural way to teach and get everything in. This next unit is about other important historical figures. It includes posters about Alexander Graham Bell, Ben Franklin, Thomas Edison, Garrett Morgan, and Richard Allen along with reading strategy practice activities. It also includes an invention home project packet for kids. The unit ended up to be over 50 pages! I am excited to include this unit in our curriculum in a few weeks!! Here are a few pics from the unit! For your free 52 page Inventors Unit CLICK HERE!! :) So glad I had time to share these endeavors! Hope you can use at least parts of either one! It is my joy to be able to share and help your journey in the classroom or homefront become a little less stressful. As always, please let me know if this is something you can use, if there are any typos or problems, and if you would like to see something else in particular on this little blog. Hello Everyone! What a great day to start a study on clouds!! Dark clouds this morning releasing a deluge of rain! By 1:00 beautiful clear sky with just a few cirrus clouds! Perfect example of our ever changing skies. I'll share our Cloud Unit in a second, but first I wanted to show some pics of our whole group math lesson. We are continuing our study of place value. After all the activities we did last week, it was time to see how all of this fits in relationship to other numbers. I pulled out our bigger than life 100 board and handed out some mystery picture clues. Each clue described a number in place value (tens and ones). The kids took turns putting their cards on the number for which their clue stood. When we finished putting all the clues down, a cloud was revealed! Use your imagination! It looks like a cloud, right??? The kids loved working together to create it!! I'm not even sure they realized they were growing their number sense!!! I did put together a little integrated cloud unit. We are going to try to get most of this in this week!! The unit also includes some poetry, another science activity and more!! You can get it if you click HERE!! Stay tuned for more cloud fun later in the week! Until then, have a wonderful week!! Thanks for stopping by for a peek!! Joyfully! Nancy
