This book offers theoretical and practical insights into the marketing of higher education in Africa. It explores the key players, challenges and policies affecting higher education across the continent; their marketing strategies and the students' selection process. While acknowledging the vast size of the continent, this book aims to provide an understanding of the dynamics of higher education in Africa. This book recognises the private and government involvement in higher education provision and students and staff as stakeholders in the marketisation process. Strategic efforts are directed by universities to attract prospective students. This book further addresses issues such as the responses of higher education sectors to the notion of markets and marketing; consumerism and competition in higher education in Africa; conceptions of the commodification of higher education in Africa; and the dominance of Western epistemologies and their influence in transforming higher education sectors. Students as consumers in increasingly marketised higher education sectors in Africa are also discussed. Though primarily for marketing students and academic researchers, the book's feature of blended theoretical and practical knowledge means that it will also be of interest to marketing practitioners and university managers. | Author: Taylor & Francis Group | Publisher: Routledge | Publication Date: Sep 30, 2021 | Number of Pages: 332 pages | Language: English | Binding: Paperback | ISBN-10: 1032173556 | ISBN-13: 9781032173559

Computational chemistry is a sub-field of chemistry which aims at solving problems of chemical nature by using computer programs. It calculates molecular structure and properties by integrating methods of theoretical chemistry and computer programs. Some of the methods used in this field are ab initio methods, chemical and molecular dynamics, density functional methods, etc. This book elucidates the concepts and innovative models around prospective developments with respect to computational chemistry. It is a compilation of chapters that discuss the most vital concepts in this field. For all those who are interested in this subject, this textbook can prove to be an essential guide.

Revision with unchanged content. This book examines the prospective science teachers' developing understanding of scientific inquiry and Mendelian genetics. A computer simulation of basic inheritance processes was used in combination with small-group discussions and other instructional scaffolds. The theoretical background is derived from a social constructivist perspective. Findings suggest that while studying important concepts in science, carefully designed inquiry experiences can help prospective science teachers to develop an understanding about the types of questions scientists in that field ask, the methodological and epistemological issues that constrain their pursuit of answers to those questions, and the ways in which they construct and share their explanations. The findings and analysis informs such questions as: - How can inquiry-based instruction be implemented in science teaching method course? - What are the roles of students and instructors in inquiry-based teaching class? - What are the difficulties of implementing inquiry based practices in science classrooms? The book is addressed to practicing science teacher educators and science teachers. It is also directed towards researchers in Science Education, Teacher Education and Science Technology and Society.
