Summer's heat is cooling down up here in the North Early morning walks are cool and misty but the days do eventually warm up and it is a joy to stitch on the front porch with Rusty Pups basking in the sun eager to receive visitors. It is thrilling for me to be given a chance to stitch. After two months with the pups they have settled, giving me more stitching time. Thank you girls! Couching down layer upon intertwined layer of twigs and branches. Just the beginnings of a piece inspired by our Springtime adventures discouraging the beavers from taking over our garden. They did leave eventually. After all, in these parts, they have hundreds of streams and ponds to choose from! Deep in thought watching her sister chewing something or other! Never had a seagull on the chimney before he must be wondering if any of the Rusty Pup toys littering the garden might be delicious edibles! They haven't yet worked out how to get into the car unaided and they are getting heavy. Hope they learn soon.

I have been working with intensity on my piece for Wild Pure Aesthetic Wonder. I've named the one panel I'm focusing on Beginning With Time. (continued from here) The size has increased and I am glad that I can no longer touch the edges. I used borders to achieve the increase in scale but now have some design challenges and not much time left before I have to ship the panel to Newfoundland. I am loving the process. Ordered seed stitch. Accumulation. I hope that what my work communicates is the quiet joy of making and at the same time the feeling that we are each just a tiny speck. go slow....stop thinking.....look around Van Gogh

As the end of summer and the beginning of fall approaches, I am so excited! COOLER WEATHER! It makes me actually want to move around again. The coolness permeates the house through the open windows in the mornings. It is invigorating, and I think, 'What will I do today?' Now don't get me wrong. I'm not so full of spunk that I am going to clean all the rooms in the house today, or get that huge project finished, or anything funny as that. But I do see some progress in my work, which to me, is quite exciting! Sewing is one of my favorite pastimes. Collecting sewing notions is something that I just cannot stop doing! I decided to pull together some pretties and show them off this week. Below, packages of Silhouette trim were a recent find that are going in the 'keep' collection! I hope you are all having a lovely week! And that cool breezes and refreshing days are part of your future! Take care and thank you so much for visiting me! Blessings, Doni
