Groovy Track - IBLS
Train track switch
Widely used in Central and Eastern Europe 20t railway crane. Everyone know how a train crane should look like. It is to be blue. Here it comes :) My 7-8 wide version of a very characteristic medium-size crane as a part of maintenance equipment on the train diorama. Designed rather for standing on a side track, but still built to run on tight LEGO track curves and points. This required some compromises on the base of the crane itself but who cares. The crane arm is controlled by two winches mounted in the turret, run manually. No any single reason to electrify it. Two micromotors could do the job tough. Battery box will require separate wagon. The lifting capacity is not extremely huge, but enough to arrange some working scenes. The weakest point is the hinge the arm is connected to the turret – I wanted it as compact as possible. Another thing is lack of ballast what causes some challenges with heavier loads. This way or another. Another pieces for the diorama is finished. I’m getting back to the watertower.
