In ancient Nahua or "Aztec" culture, xochihua, owner of flowers, was the name given to queer people assigned male at birth. For this culture, flowers were a sign of femininity, sexuality and beauty. To be an "owner of flowers" marked you as a person linked to the feminine realm of culture and being, and marked you as a third gender, neither male nor female but both. To our eyes xochihua people might appear similar to a trans woman, or a gender fluid person, encompassing elements of both genders. In this painting, a xochihua person carries a large basket full of flowers. They wear a skirt, and because of the heat, have removed their huipil, or traditional blouse, and wear it covering their head. They exchange a kiss with their lover, a man. The phrase in the Nahuatl language, "Ye Ocuepon in Xochihua'', means "The Xochihua has Blossomed".

Our wallpaper is three times thicker (150 microns) than any wallpaper from Etsy, Target, Home Depot, Wayfair, Amazon. In addition, we achieved the highest quality in the industry using HP production printing technology. Why does print technology matter? Previous technologies used solvent and eco-solvent, both of which contained chemicals with high levels of volatile organic compounds that destroyed wallpaper panels in a very short period of time. As HP Latex printing technology improved, it was able to eliminate the use of harsh chemicals and reduce material shrinkage. Today, our wallpaper production uses HP Latex inks that are water-based and chemical-free. Most importantly, this printing technology provides higher color quality, long-term color consistency and scratch resistance. WE DO NOT PROCESS MORE THAN 3 SAMPLES OF THE SAME DESIGN

Finally on August 6, we got to see our: Night Blooming Cereus (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) Orchid Cactus in full bloom around midnight! It was worth it for staying around and making these photos of a flower so exotic and spectacular. Above all, its fragrance is heavenly! My husband Pieter also did get to see its flowers, later in the night when he woke up. Both of us are so glad we got to see this. Taking photos in the dark is not easy. I had a flashlight for pointing at the blossoms but I did shoot some images for sharing with you. Below this post you also find the link to YouTube where I put more photos as a video presentation. Don't you think this flower is exotic looking? The heavenly fragrance is out of this world...! Below this post I also placed a link where you can order this plant. A very nice view inside this huge flower. And yes, it is a pure white one! Here you can partly see three of those beauties. Just wondering which insects will visit this flower during the night. It is obvious that some have been inside as there is pollen spilled on the lower petals... It was almost a pity for going to bed that night.. because in the morning the flowers are closed up again! With my flashlight I aimed at the flowers and I had to squat down for capturing them... Sideways and here you still see the pink outer petals. Very nice detail of the center of this Orchid Cactus. All FIVE of them... So what do you think of this exotic Orchid Cactus? Too bad that it opens up around midnight and closes again by morning... Plants that eat rats, slimy alien-looking fungi, leaves that dance all by themselves and flowers that smell like the rotting corpse of a horse.
In this digital floral artwork inspired by old-world Dutch paintings, a sumptuous bouquet of flowers takes center stage on a virtual canvas. The meticulous use of digital tools brings each individual bloom to life with intricate detailing—petals unfurling, stamens delicately exposed, and leaves adorned with detailed textures. The color palette echoes the rich tones reminiscent of traditional Dutch masterpieces but with a bolder punch of color. Deep reds, velvety blues dominate the composition, creating a harmonious interplay of hues that harkens back to the 17th-century floral arrangements of artists like Jan van Huysum and Rachel Ruysch.
Self-portraiture is synonymous to experimenting and getting to know one's self, it's a classic tradition of art history, but it never fails to be beautiful. And such is Rimel Neffati, who finds amusement within herself, through photography, red lipstick, masks, crowns, and flowers.
