THIS IS A KNITTING PATTERN NOT A FINISHED SWEATER! This is a very easy pattern which you will be able to knit in your pjs, watching netflix with chocs and a bottle of red (If that’s your thing)! The Tilly Turtle Sweater is knitted from the waist band up. We knit some 1x1 ribbing, some stocking stitch in the round and then separate the front and back panels. We work both front and back panels in flat stocking stitch, do some neckline shaping and some 3 needle bind off. We then pick up stitches around the arm holes, knit the baggy sleeves and choose an option for our sleeve cuffs! :) For me, the most exciting part to knit is the neckline, which you can knit short, long or LONGER!!!! You can knit this baby up with stash yarn or with a strand of chunky yarn- be as EXTRA as you’d like! Video Tutorial links can be found as you work up the pattern. :) The Tilly Turtle Sweater has been designed to have between 5-13cm/2-4 inches of positive ease, meaning that it will be roomy. Please size up or down if you wish for a looser or more snug fit. The bust size of the actual sweater goes from 80cm/ 31 inches- 160cm/ 63 inches The length is totally customisable! Tension: In stocking stitch, with 7mm needles, working flat (one row knit, one row purl). 10 stitches = 9.5cm/ 3.7 inches (width) 10 rows = 7cm/ 2.75 inches (length) Materials: Size 7mm circular needles (or whichever size needle gets you the correct gauge) with an 80cm cord or longer and a shorter cord for the neckline ribbing. I used an 80cm cord for the entire sweater and used the magic loop technique for the neckline and sleeves! Please use whatever size needles needed to get correct gauge. Size 6mm circular needles for the ribbing 6mm double pointed needles in case you want to use this method for the sleeve cuffs or the neckline ribbing BOR stitch marker Stitch holder or scrap yarn to hold stitches Darning needle to seam panels and for weaving in ends A good glass of wine! **Yarns:** Chunky Yarn which recommends using a 6-7mm needle. I am all for stash busting and making something beautiful out of what you already have in your yarn stash! Yarn amounts Because this pattern is a stash buster and different types of yarn can be heavier than others (e.g. cotton is heavier than merino) it is quite tricky to get an approximate yarn amount for this pattern. Please use the measurements below as a guide. If using Double Knitting (DK) weight yarn with three strands held together you will need between 550 and 1300 grams. If using Aran/Worsted weight yarn with two strands held together you will need between 600 and 1350 grams. If using Chunky weight yarn you will need between 700 and 1500 grams. Reversible Cardigan with a deep V neck in sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL. The pattenr provides instructions for working both cardigan versions: the striped cardigan as well as the mohair cardigan with the peplum. Structure: The cardigan is worked in stockinette stitch top down with raglan increases. To shape the round neck, the left and the right shoulder sections are worked separately and then joined at the round neck. The cardigan is then worked in one piece back and forth in rows. Every 6 rows there are additional increases to shape the deep V neck. As soon as the sleeves are separated from the body, the increase frequency for the deep v neck becomes higher, before the body of the cardigan is finished straight and without any increases anymore. Before casting off, the body is finished with a hem in 2x2 ribbed pattern. Now the sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch in rounds and finished with a cuff in 2x2 ribbing too. Afterwards, stitches around the neckline and the front parts are picked up to work the button band in 2x2 ribbing. Hem, cuffs and button band are worked in the contrast colour, body and sleeves are worked in a striped pattern with smaller stripes in the contrast colour. The fit of the cardigan is minimal oversized for the most comfortable feeling and has a positive ease of around 5 cm. The striped pattern and the ribbed details in the contrast colour create an interesting look for the romantic style of the reversible cardigan. When working the mohair version, stitch counting and instructions remain the same. Instead of working the 2x2 ribbed hem, a little peplum is added to the body. The button band is worked in stockinette stitch and smaller buttons are added to the button band. The sleeves are worked in rounds and finished with an i-cord-edging instead of the cuffs in 2x2 ribbed pattern. The pattern to make this top comes as a digital pdf download. The Aura Top is a lightweight, long-sleeved top with set-in sleeves. The use of a fine mohair yarn and larger needles in the knitting process gives this top a slightly open and airy feel, perfect for layering. The Aura Top is knitted flat in three pieces, the body and two sleeves. The body is knitted in the round from the bottom up until reaching the armholes, then you work flat on half of your stitches to form the front and back of the top. The sleeves are knitted flat from the bottom up then invisible seams are used to join everything together. This pattern provides easy to follow detailed instructions using the following techniques: Long tail cast on, knitting in the round, knitting flat, knit, purl, stocking stitch, decreasing, cast off, slip stitch, increasing and invisible seaming.
