"The Dresden Quilt Vase," the first showstopper of my Quilt Project. This stunning hand-built oval vase stands approximately 10 inches tall, with an oval opening measuring approximately 5 x 6 inches. Crafted from layers of colored porcelain clay bound to stoneware, it showcases a mesmerizing fusion of techniques from nerikomi style and quilting. Each vase is a functional piece of art, adorned with a clear food-safe glaze for practicality. The Quilt Project has been a year-long endeavor to perfect this unique technique, inspired by the intriguing relationship between femininity and power. By exploring women's work and the breaking of gender norms, I pay homage to the historical significance of quilting. Quilting, traditionally seen as women's work, has always been far from powerless. It served as a means for building communities, amplifying voices, and even aiding the underground railroad and suffragist movement. Drawing inspiration from this rich tradition, I have meticulously recreated the essence of quilting on this exceptional vase, seamlessly blending the old and the new. The renowned Dresden quilt pattern, dating back to the early 1800s, adorns the vase with its distinct periwinkle blue and pink arrangement. This limited edition vase is a true collector's item, available to only a select few. Each piece is meticulously hand-built and uniquely adorned, ensuring that no two vases are alike. Whether displayed as a standalone work of art or paired with a beautiful bouquet, this hand-built ceramic vase with its periwinkle blue and pink quilt pattern is bound to captivate those who appreciate the beauty of craftsmanship and the allure of limited editions. Embrace the legacy of quilting, elevate your space, and revel in the functional and artistic beauty that this vase brings to your collection.

Description Light/Soil/Water Hardiness Pothos N’Joy, Epipremnum Pinnatum, is one of the most beautiful Pothos species. It has beautiful foliage with bright green heart-shaped leaves and creamy yellow variegation. Each leaf has a unique pattern, making this plant a wonderful ornamental plant. The variegated color of the leaves changes depending on the lighting conditions. As the plant gets more light, the variegation becomes more prominent. Pothos NJoy's trailing stems will root when they come into contact with soil. This plant is very effective in purifying and cleaning indoor air. This plant doesn't require frequent and special care, and thus they are suitable for anyone with a busy lifestyle. It prefers bright, indirect light but it tolerates different lighting conditions. This plant is perfect for most indoor environments. However, deep shade can make the color of the foliage darker, and scorching sun can burn the leaves. The best technique to water Pothos N'joy is to let the topsoil go a bit dry before watering it again. Only water when the soil is dry to the touch. Reduce watering in winter. Well-Drained, slightly moist soil is the best for Pothos plants. This plant should be fertilized once during the growing season (spring/summer) with diluted houseplant fertilizer. Although I grew up in wooded areas most of my life (not abandoned or anything like those tarzan stories), I have always taken gardening in the shade for granted. My first effort at being a garden owner was in a sunny garden, as was my second.

Over the past few years, Twitter user @Ben_On_The_Moon has photographed his chain link fence due to a mysterious weathering pattern that has caused groups of concentric rings to appear on the upper side of the fence’s segments. His macro photographs emphasize the intriguing apparitions, which appear like miniature crop circles on the metal bars. Despite his research, he has not discovered the specific cause of the pattern. You can see more of @Ben_On_The_Moon’s documentation of the curious phenomena on Twitter. More

Full Shade to Partial Shade (0 - 4 Hours Of Direct Sunlight) Height 16 - 18 Inches Width 28 - 36 Inches Growing Zones 3-8 Here’s where things get a little shady...for plants, that is. Queen of Hearts Heartleaf Brunnera is one of the prettiest spring blooming shade foliage perennials that you will find anywhere. Growing in partial or full shade, Brunnera, or False Forget Me Nots as they are commonly called, can brighten your shade garden and give you beautiful petite blue flowers for about 8 weeks in the spring, then look gorgeous with their distinctive silver patterned foliage for the rest of the season. You are going to like this perennial! Native to Siberia, or more specifically the Caucasus region between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, Brunnera is hardy in Zones 3-8, and grows in all regions of the United States except the extreme southern coast and parts of the California coast. Also nicknamed Siberian bugloss, brunnera does not, unfortunately, have any bug repellent properties. The name ‘bugloss’ actually refers to the appearance of the leaves, resembling an ox’s tongue. Queen of Hearts Heartleaf Brunnera Care Although it is not particular about soil pH, brunnera does require a location that is mostly shade, and has consistently moist soil without being soggy. The native habitat for brunnera is one of contrasting conditions, but growing brunnera in your garden does not have to be complicated. It tolerates a wide variety of soil pH and has one major requirement for successful growing: consistently moist soil with excellent drainage. Rich, well composted organic soil that is mulched, if need be, to keep it constantly moist, will result in the best performance for your new perennial. Tolerating some morning sun, it grows best with part to full shade. Water to maintain moisture, and fertilize with a general purpose fertilizer if your soil is particularly poor. Deadheading will actually prolong the bloom season, encouraging a second flush of the small blue flower with a white center. The foliage will die back completely in the fall and return anew the next spring. Brunnera will reseed itself if not deadheaded. Divide the plant every 4 to 5 years for best results. Queen of Hearts Heartleaf Brunnera Spacing Space your plants 28 to 36 inches apart as these shade perennials will reach 18 inches high and spread out 36 inches wide. While not bothered by many insect pests, brunnera can be attractive to snails and slugs. Bees are attracted to the flowers in the spring. Brunnera makes a wonderful container plant as well as being massed out in your shady landscape. They make great companions for hosta, another great shade loving perennial.
