Upcycling is great. It is an easy, usually affordable way to add a little character to your home and convey a personal style. It’s also a great way to reduce our carbon footprint and use something that we might otherwise throw away or that has lived out its created purpose. Upcycling requires a little thinking outside the box which can sometimes be difficult, especially when it comes to matters of the home but with a little creativity some truly inspired creations can come of it. About the Piece:This retro chest of Harris Lebus drawers has been lovingly re-imagined with some African flair, ready for its new forever home. This piece dates to the late 1960s originally.The body and splayed legs have been painted using Bunyt's Paints in the shade Bewitched which is a beautiful navy blue colour. The drawer fronts have been decoupaged using Nigerian Anningtex waxed fabric which was bought from Zimbabwe. It has a beautiful pattern on it with pops of orange to contrast against the blue.
