My latest quilt is finally finished. It is my interpretation of the Jacob's Ladder pattern. In my next post I will talk about the challenges in making Upstairs Downstairs , but for now I am just going to appreciate the fact that it is finished and that I am (mostly!) happy with it.

Hello! Finally, the end of a slow burn decoration project. A friend kindly gave us a whole load of vintage wallpaper scraps (mostly William Morris - including some interesting colour-ways from the 1960/70s - and a bit of Voysey). I also had some samples and offcuts left over from having wallpapered elsewhere in the house. I decided I might frame a few so went into this great shop nearby stuffed literally floor to ceiling full of junk from house clearances. I said "How many frames will you let me have for 30 quid?". "Give me 40 and you can take the lot", he replied. Amazing! A few extra charity shop finds and I had enough to cover the entire corridor. And so little by little over the last two years or so I've been framing everything up.

In a 290ft2 micro studio near La Carolina Park in the city of Quito, you’ll find a unique and innovative habitable artifact called Domestico. Domestico was designed by the Cuqui Rodríguez team in Quito, Ecuador, led by architects Juan Alberto Andrade and María José Váscones. It’s described as a light and airy transformer apartment that solves spatial and formal limitations. It does this in some of the most incredible ways. First of all, the transformer apartment is effectively a piece of furniture itself, yet it turns a wide open space into a functional home for an individual or couple. While simplistic
