I have always wanted a garden! A garden full of fresh organic fruits and veggies! A place where I could send the kids and have them pick me some basil, kale, tomatoes or pick a few strawberries to eat! Sounds great right? Well, I have a bit of a brown thumb and that's a huge problem for a full flourishing garden! After hearing about a family friend who has a business strictly building and MAINTAINING gardens, I knew we had to have one!! It's a local family business that comes out and installs a garden size of your choice and maintains it for a small monthly fee. What a brilliant idea!! Larry with Keep it Growin, was so helpful in setting ours up on the side of the house that probably wouldn't have gotten much use. He calls it an edible landscape! He first started off by building up our boxes. Then he installed a drip system, because my husbands knows my mind is elsewhere and it would only have been a matter of time before I forgot about watering it! Then he planted each plant with lots of love and care! And Wa-La! A complete garden! Isn't it so cute!! This was 2 weeks after install... And after 6 weeks of sun and lots of water, this is our yummy garden now! Bearing lots of fruits and veggies! Lots of tomatoes, kale, potatoes, strawberries, mint, parsley, squash, green onions, peppers, collard greens... And LOTS of BASIL!!! My favorite!! We've made so many batches of fresh yummy pesto and even a fresh margarita pizza! I love the idea of the girls watching the garden grow and running out back to bring me in some fresh veggies and fruit!! Thank you to Keep it Growin for our amazing garden!!
