I have no idea where in France this picture was taken. It sure felt familiar, owing to the fact it reminded me so much of one of Rik Pierce's dollhouses. I sure would love to make it. Though not for my collection, it would be too small. I just think it would be a lot of fun. I even like the color of the green trim. Surely there can't be two doors side by side... Can there? Don't you wonder what is around that bend. I want to see the rest of it! Thank you to Jean-Claude for providing a link in the comments section. It is always nice to give photographers credit for their work. Plus there are more wonderful photos. https://michaelevansphotographerblog.com/2013/07/29/delightful-dinan/
Located in the district of Porto, in the Village of Lousada, the Interpretation Centre of Romanesque is located in an area that is an expansion of this village marked by a strong relationship with an urban square called Pra- ça das Pocinhas and with the Senhor dos Aflitos Church - a strong reference in the town center.

Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of Southeastern France. One of the oldest medieval towns on the French Riviera. The architecture in this quaint Provencal village is so charming and there are beautiful scenes at every turn. This is one of my most favorite towns in Provence. The buildings are made of stone and the streets are cobblestone. There are arches and shops, art galleries and fountains. This photo comes in a variety of standard sizes and is printed on archival paper. NOTE: some sizes such as 5 x 7 and 8 x 10 will require some cropping of the original image.

Some Italian real-life towns, because of their characteristic lay-out or the fairy-tale atmosphere they exude when they light up and glow at night, look exactly like these miniature Christmas villages that are so popular in Italy. Below is a list of these città presepe, which offer an out-of-this-world sight of typical little Italian Nativity scenes, covered by snow or clinging to rock pinnacles.

Misty hills. Lonely forest roads. Plenty of vines, moss, and unkempt trees. And the cherry on top—a gorgeous abandoned building that radiates eeriness and grandeur in equal measure. That’s our dream home right there. Especially if the place looks haunted.
Conques is a UNESCO World heritage Site and on the list of the "Most beautiful villages in France". It is only 30km east of Figeac but quite different in terms of building materials and architectural style. Its location on the edge of the Dourdou gorge is stunning. The village retains parts of the old town wall and gates. The narrow cobbled streets are lined by well preserved houses. The main attraction is the 10th century Abbaye Sainte Foy, which made it an important stopping point on the pilgrims route to Santiago di Compostello.

African architecture - Islam, Christianity, Africa: Early civilizations in the western Sudan region had strong trading links across the Sahara, and an Islamic presence was established south of the desert 1,000 years ago. In the 11th century Kumbi, the capital of the kingdom of Ghana (in present-day Mali), was described as having a dozen mosques. Subsequently the kingdoms of Mali and Songhai superseded ancient Ghana, with Timbuktu and Gao on the Niger River becoming major centres of learning and commerce. Excavations have revealed that these towns were large, prosperous, and well constructed. Muslim builders introduced a new type of dwelling reflecting their Arab and North African
Alliance franco-sénégalaise Ziguinchor © _ccil_ You can probably clearly picture the architecture of Europe, Asia, the Middle East and India – but can you say the same for Africa? For thousands of years, Africa helped shape our modern world and yet, so much of it is underrepresented. We spent the
The initial step in this endeavor entails an in-depth exploration of the local traditions and customs. This thorough research enables us to harness authentic and unique elements from the region. Nowadays, trying to learn the history of ancient times and get close to the roots is among the most wanted things to do. On the left bank of the Ili River, there is a very rare and ancient-looking place, which is located 90 km away from Almaty; it is called the Nomad Fortress. From the first sight at it, you might think how brilliantly the ancient town is preserved till nowadays, however, these are not the ruins of a city that existed. This is a huge construction, built for filming a movie about the lifestyle of ancient Kazakhs as nomad people. The setting of 'Nomad - the warrior' movie, required the erection of a medieval eastern fortress right in the center of steppes. Hundreds of actors were involved in the filming process. The film was released in 2015. And you are now welcome to discover the steppe tales of the ancient Nomad Village that can be found near Almaty.
