Hello everyone, I am a little late posting, but I have been enjoying some bright sunny days, the outdoors has been calling me.Also, a friend and I went out for lunch and did a little thrift shopping. I got a few treasures that I will share with you later. Now on with my post! I bought this wicker breakfast tray at a thrift shop recently, just in case some lazy Sunday morning my husband wants to serve me breakfast in bed! I hope he reads this post so he will get the hint. But for you, I have served a light breakfast in our little guest room. This green and white toile wallpaper has been on for several years and I still love it. Do you see the hand crochet bedspread on the end of the bed, that is one of my treasures from yesterday. I should have shown a closeup but don't worry you will see it again as it gets moved around the house. Don't you love this sweet little spoon with the matching teacup? when you are done of your breakfast you can enjoy looking through some of my magazines. I found this cute little egg cup at the thrift store as well. these two shots of the room were taken last year. Well, even through your breakfast was pretty skimpy, I hope you enjoyed breakfast in bed,- I know I would!!! Today I am joining Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday and My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday. Thank you for visiting, Carolyn
The average age of the residents was 26 and the city had 16,000 children under the age of 16. Life in Pripyat was paradise compared to many places in the Soviet Union and people competed to live there. Soviet education was organized in a highly centralized government-run system. Its advantages were total access for all citizens and post-education employment. The Soviet Union recognized that the foundation of their system depended upon complete dedication of the people to the state through education in the broad fields of engineering, the natural sciences, the life sciences and social sciences, along with basic education.
One of my favorite local projects is an addition to a 1920s tudor house here in the city. The original house, as many tudors are, was rather dark with a small original kitchen. The architects, BarnesVanze, came up with the solution of adding a sunroom onto the back of the house housing a kitchen above other needed spaces along a stone terrace. The interior of the kitchen is made even lighter by eliminating overhead cabinets and instead going with open glass shelving.Who wouldn't want to spend time in this bright and cheery Sunroom?
Saturday Dreams Garden Rooms I'm obsessed with them at the moment. Or the creating of them, that is. The inside of my garage could become this. They can be pretty and inside as this one is Or simple and out in a greenhouse This poolside one would be perfect on the back of my house. This one too. I have the space...I just need furniture and lots of plants and lighting. With my newly developing sink hole in the backyard...there is a silver lining. I've been wanting to dig out some patches of earth to create two stone patios. One underneath my little back pergola and another to the side of my deck. I had wondered what I'd do with the dirt. Problem solved...I now have a hole the dirt can go into. Perhaps it was meant to be. I've been out shopping for patio furniture too....I feel like I can't make it one more year without a proper settee and chair on the back deck. I ponder and ponder the ones at Pier 1 but then tonight I went by The Home Depot and was pretty smitten with this one and it's matching chair. See the collection here Prices are good and include cushions. I don't think the cushions are as nice a quality as Pier 1's but they'd do for awhile. Then I went by Lowes and saw this.... Really nice! But no way can I afford this. See this collection here So I'll keep dreaming and planning. I did buy some ferns today....the beginnings of my outdoor oasis.
