A new twist on the traditional end of the school year survey we all try to give our students. I love the feedback I get from my kids. I think it helps me make changes in my class so I can improve as a teacher. This year, I did my survey in the form of Sketch Notes. I gave them out as students turned in their the final exam. It gave them a chance to fill them out as well as doodle and color until everyone finished. This resource includes the End of the Year Survey Sketch Notes with these questions: 1. What skills and techniques have you developed this year? 2. What was your favorite thing we did this year? Why? 3. What would you have liked to learn about that you didn't get a chance to this year? 4. What were you most proud of yourself for this year? Why? 5. I think I learn best when....... This is because ....... 6. Next time, I wish my teacher would........ 7. Is there anything about the class you really didn't enjoy? Why? This file also contains a BONUS blank version so you can write in your own survey questions! How can the use of Sketch Notes help your students? • They promote active processing of information • They foster a balance of main ideas and details • They help students organize knowledge • They aid in understanding and recall through dual coding • They encourage creativity • They help students visualize abstract scientific concepts • They are visually appealing • They help students remember information This resource includes: • End of the Year Survey Sketch Notes (line drawing)- with survey questions!! • BONUS-- End of the Year Sketch Notes with blanks for your own questions (line drawing) VISIT MY NEW WEBSITE! www.biologysketchnotes.com See Sketch Notes in action on my blog at https://ateacherontheedge.wordpress.com/2018/01/29/a-sample-unit-plan-using-sketch-notes-cellular-molecular-biology-cell-size-chromosomes-cell-cycle-meiosis/ Please visit my blog for a more complete explanation of how I use Sketch Notes with the students in my classroom https://ateacherontheedge.wordpress.com/2017/12/19/using-sketch-notes-in-the-biology-classroom/ Don't forget to FOLLOW ME on TPT https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Drm for updates and ideas! Hey everyone! It's been an EXHAUSTING, but WONDERFUL first week of school! I love my students to pieces and the students are really loving Whole Brain Teaching! We're still working on whole class participation, but we will get there! I already had my instructional coach come in my room while we were doing it and she seemed quite interested! Anyway, I'm kinda late to the Freebie Friday party but I wanted to share a couple of things. I have had a bunch of emails and comments asking whether or not I would share the long range plans you saw in THIS post. Of course, I would be HAPPY to share! It is already filled out, but you can just change it to suit your needs. Just click the picture below to download. I changed the font to Arial Narrow so that it didn't show up weird when you download it. It is a WORD document. Something else I wanted to share with you is this Reading Interest Survey that I conducted with my class this week! We did it together as a class so I could explain each question. I think this is a great tool to get to know the students reading interests and habits. This file is a PDF. Just click the image below to download your copy! Go link up at Blog Hoppin' if you haven't already!
