The order of Lagomorph includes two families – Leporidae (rabbits, hares, cottontails) and the Ochotonidae (pikas.) When I photographed Stanley in 2012, I had no idea this little guy’s charm, smile and pooping on the studio floor would be the inspiration for a new collection of work. Photographing Stanley was the result of a failed negotiation with an animal trainer – I wanted to photograph a Wallaby they had, but could only afford the Donkey… And so it goes – with this fine ass, the Fairy Tale Animal series was born.
