Because, to be honest, this is an amazing stamp set! Today I wanted to show you another card I made with the beautiful Waterfront stamp set, available in the current Occasions catalogue (2018). I've made a couple of samples with this set before, but with this card I decided to step it up a notch and use the stamps in quite a different way. Believe or not, this is actually a very quick card, and the watercolour look you can get with these stamps is quite amazing. The whole piece took me around 10 minutes to produce, and I think you'll agree the effect is stunning! So how did I do it? Well there are plans for a tutorial to show you how. And next month's technique class here in my home studio will focus on this stamp set - and includes teaching you how to use the stamps in this way. So if you are close to the Central Coast then please sign up to the class... click HERE to let me know you are coming. Here are the dates: 13th February @ 7.30pm or 14th February @ 11.15am You can see what other classes I have coming up by clicking the "Class and Event Schedule" tab above. Dear Friends This card is Fast. This card is Fabulous. This card is so easy you won't believe it! I CASed it from a card on Pinterest, but mine is even faster and easier. Believe it or not. No cutting. No layers. Just stamp away. My Waterfront work of art is a one-layer card using Stampin' Up! thick Whisper White. I stamped the mountains from the Waterfront stamp set in Crumb Cake (the ones further behind are stamped off once) and the sun in So Saffron. The grass was stamped in Lemon Lime Twist and the trees in Garden Green. The water was stamped in Pool Party then again in Dapper Denim. Then the grass in front was stamped in Pear Pizazz and the dots were stamped in Sahara Sand. For the final detail, I used the mountain stamp with Soft Sky ink to create faint clouds. Lots of colours. Lots of stamps. But no positioning or even being careful. The watercolour effect of these images means you can stamp them pretty much anywhere and it all looks glorious. Everyone will think you are a true artist! Add a sentiment to create a Sympathy Card Don't forget to add a sentiment to the inside of your card! This is the type of card that you can make in duplicate (or triplicate!) so you have a great card ready for any occasion, when you need it. Leave the sentiment off like I did, then add one later to suit your needs. Unfortunately, I seem to need a lot of sympathy cards lately so this card was turned into one using sentiments from the Rose Wonder set. Dapper Denim sentiments on the outside and the inside and this card is ready to send. I created a similar card last week using the Waterfront set. Just as fast. Just as fabulous. Trust me when I say you want the Waterfront stamp set. Purchase it plus any number of other goodies from the Occasions catalogue and/or the Annual catalogue and/or the Clearance rack. When you order $60-worth of goodies you get to choose a FREE Sale-A-Bration item! Even better, save a TON of money by joining my team during Sale-A-Bration. Hey friends, this past two weeks has really clipped by. Susan, Buffy and I are back with another challenge for you. This one is a color challenge, that is guaranteed to make you think about spring flowers, or Easter. Sorry, I won't be featuring either. For my card, I pulled out my faithful Waterfront set (Occasions p 48). I felt that these slightly unusual colors would make a vibrant scene, that I hope would brighten the day of the recipient. The sentiment comes from the Colorful Seasons set (Annual p 147). I appreciate your visit to my blog, and strongly recommend that you click on over to see the wonderful cards that Buffy and Susan created with this color combination.

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing a night scene card made with Stampin Up!'s Waterfront and High Tide stamp sets. If you would like to purchase any of the products featured today please head on to my ONLINE STORE I have made a video tutorial showing you how to make the above card. After filming, I realised that you can add extra definition to the trees and other elements, by using a darker ink. In this case I inked the trees in Night of Navy . I will feature this below. I wonder which one you prefer? Both have the same look but one is more subtle than the other. Here is the video tutorial showing you how I made it If you can't view it here please click on the following YouTube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8EawtENI2w Thanks so much for watching! CARD Love Never Gives Up card from the new Stampin Up Waterfront Stamp Set. The mountains, water, words and trees are stamped on Whisper White card stock. The edges of the are roughed up with a bone folder to create this distressed look. The background is textured with the Pinewood Planks folder, and the card is completed with a touch of linen thread.
I like this sketch...it looked like a brick wall. However, I immediately thought of the Waterfront set and finally did a scene other than the beach. The beach is my happy place but I love any water-lakes, rivers, ponds, streams, but mostly the ocean! I started with Marina Mist on the bottom and then a little texture over it in the same color. I moved to Night of Navy and flipped the stamp to look different. My land stamped in Soft Suede and mountains stamped in Always Artichoke gave the finally layer except for the sentiment. I decided on the Just Breathe from Colorful Seasons in Navy. The trees are stamped off once in Suede and the sun is stamped in Peekaboo Peach for a sunset kind of look. Hope you can play along over at casethissketch.blogpsot.com and relax and breathe some fresh air this week! Thanks for stopping by! 1946 Scott 79 2p orange brown & black, Wmk 253 "Polynesian Migratory Canoe" Quick History Niue ("behold the coconut") is an island country in the South Pacific Ocean currently in free association with New Zealand. The Capital is Alofi, and the population was 4,100 in 1936. Of interest, the population today is about 1,400, with 90% of Niueans living in New Zealand. New Zealand annexed Niue in 1901, along with the Cook islands to the east. Captain James Cook sighted the island in 1774, but was refused permission to land by the natives. They had a native red banana (hulahula) painted on their teeth- which looked like blood to Captain Cook- so he named it "Savage Island". Niue is within Polynesia Niue was "somewhat" separately administered from the Cook Islands by New Zealand because of Niue's remoteness, as well as the fact that Niue and the Cook Islands Polynesians had cultural and linguistic differences. I say "somewhat", because Niue and the Cook Islands were pretty much lumped together in reality as we shall see. Niue- 100 square miles in area Stamps were issued for Niue in 1902 by overprinting the issues of New Zealand. This was the case until 1920, when Niue proper received their own issues. Rarotonga (Cook Islands) issues had the same images though. In 1932, "Cook Islands" script was added to the "Niue" script on the new issues of Niue. Again, the Cook Islands shared the same images on their stamps. 1937 Scott 70 1p rose carmine "Coronation Issue" New Zealand Stamps of 1937, Overprinted Into the Deep Blue The 2011 Scott Classic Specialized catalogue has, for Niue 1902-1950, 103 major descriptive numbers.
