I think it's safe to say, I am quite obsessed with Anthropologie. Despite everything offered being extremely expensive (a little too expensive), I love the shabby chic/vintage inspiration that store gives me on a regular basis. I know I'm not the only one with this obsession.. Try Pinterest or Google-searching "Anthropologie-inspired".. The results are endless. I'm pretty sure my favorite parties to organize have to be the ones I've done with Anthropologie in mind. I can't help it! Just a few parties & DIY's I have done, inspired by Anthro - Bridal Shower Inspired by Anthropologie Cupcake Liner Pomanders Ruffle Fabric Pomanders Anthropoligie-Inspired Garland Yellow Bridal shower with Anthropologie-Inspired Elements Even the Q-Tip Flowers my sister an I made for our little sister's bridal shower were inspired by Anthropologie.. This week, I'm talking about downstairs, not upstairs books. Books in which "downstairs" not "upstairs" characters are the most important.

The Sartorialist Man The Sartorialist Man: Inspiration Every Man Wants, Education Every Man Needs , by renowned photographer, fashion editor, and social media sensation Scott Schuman, is the definitive fashion primer celebrating the diversity of today's well-dressed man. Schuman's dynamic street photography captures the essence of style as seen through lens of guys of all ages from around the globe. Setting the new standard, the book will be an invaluable resource for men as they explore and honor their unique personal style. "What I didn't want this book to be was a list of rules. But I do outline principles that will help you make confident decisions about your many sartorial choices," says Schuman in the book's introduction. The book begins with "Dressing Your Body Type," because when you know what fits your unique body, the better you can pull off any look. In section one, "Clothing," Schuman delves into wardrobe basics with "Elements"--an illustrated glossary of everything from jackets and pants, and collars and cuffs, to outerwear and underwear. Also sprinkled throughout are "Style Strategies" explaining how stylish gentlemen do what they do so well, and the "Focus" section is filled with tips on to how to talk to a tailor, view the runway, and discover inspiration from friends and colleagues. The second part of the book tackles everything you need to know about accessories--whether to go socks or no socks, and how to tie a tie, choose the right glasses or sunglasses, and find the right shoe. Part three, "Maintenance & Sustainability," is filled with illustrated step-by-step instructions on how to care for, mend, fold, store, and pack your clothes and footwear. Schuman even shares pointers on the how and why to invest in key pieces of your wardrobe, shop online or in person, or buy vintage or new.Refreshing, contemporary, and inspiring, this striking menswear tome will come to define today's essence of style. The Sartorialist: Man is about enjoying the freedom to explore what looks great on you--and that, perhaps, is the ultimate chic. My Etsy shop is filled with lots of beautiful vintage books, but what happens to the books that are a little more worn? Well, the ones which are significantly damaged with pages falling out and detached covers get upcycled in my crafts. They're turned into bookmarks, cards, gift tags and box frame art, many of which are available to buy in my shop. I try and waste as little as possible. But that left me with the dilemma of what to do with the books which are more worn and well loved, but are still readable vintages copies. This was my solution! The 'Adopt a Book' scheme where you can give a home to a vintage book from just £6.95. These books are all older than 25 years, and many date back to the early 1900's. They are showing more signs of their age, perhaps through staining, wear or discolouration...but most importantly there are no loose pages or covers hanging on by just a thread! They are fully functioning books that are just a little more well loved than others. You can choose what title book you wish to purchase, or you can elect to have one sent at random. Either way, your book will be wrapped in brown paper and sent to you in an eco-friendly jiffy bag. My shop ethos is to waste as little as possible, and when I found out how many books (hundreds of thousands) got recycled each year and turned into corrugated cardboard, I resolved to do what I could to save some of these vintage books. All I can say now is...Happy Reading!
I'm spending too much time in la-la land. Reading books & watching films that transport me to another time & place. And getting stuck there.

Reading is also essential to getting ahead in many different industries. The fashion industry is no exception. In fashion, it is crucial to know how successful people accomplished what they did. Figure out what they did right, and know what they did wrong so you do not make the mistakes they did in your professional career in

1959 This book is my new favorite treasure! The costumers on Mad Men used this book (well, not this very book!) to get the women's clothes (particularly Betty's, I bet) just right especially in the first season. This book has been reprinted and is available in it's new form in bookstores. But this one is the real 1959 thing! I'm going to be fashionable before the week is out!
