If I asked you what story does life remind you of, which one would you pick? Whatever your answer might be, there is a subreddit that wants to convince us that it's more like Cinderella or Beauty and the Beast.

Manchester continues to become a truly modern city, with its ever changing topography dominated most notably by new sky scrapers. Whilst one of the best places to view this pace of change is from afar - viewing the city’s skyline from up high; within the city, it is Mosley Street that provides one of the most compelling views. Here looking from Piccadilly towards St. Peters Square, one can see a cluster of new buildings that were not there a few years ago and have completely changed the vista. I was fortunate to capture this scene early morning as the sun was still rising, giving the buildings some wonderful coloured hues. This is 069 a limited edition run of prints - 10 in each size - once they are gone they are gone forever. Each print has been produced on fine art cotton, is acid free 300gsm paper and will be numbered and signed by 0161

Luckily for me, I got down there just after sunrise on a Sunday when a thick fog was drifting over off the Savannah River and the street was still devoid of late-rising tourists. Romantic River Street was paved with the ballast stones from the ships coming over from England in Savannah's early days. The discarded stones were used in buildings and walkways. When a dirt road was carved out along the water front to ease traffic and facilitate commerce, thousands of these cobbles and English field stones became the bumpy road we now call River Street. The first horsecars began operation in Savannah in 1869. Electric streetcars started operation in 1890. The rails are now used exclusively by Dottie, a 1930s-era streetcar originally from Melbourne, Australia. ---------------------------------- This is an original fine art photo by Renee Sullivan Any watermark showing Renee Sullivan Photography will be removed. Image will be digitally signed by the artist on the front, unless otherwise requested. ----------------------------------- ** ABOUT LUSTER and METALLIC PAPER PRINTS ** I offer professional archival grade Silver Halide photographic prints, so that you receive the longest lasting and highest quality prints available. Silver Halide prints are scratch, water, and fade resistant because the process uses emulsion and silver crystals to embed the image into the paper. LUSTER PAPER - Classic and beautiful, its colors are rich and life-like with true blacks and pure whites. Luster photo paper is balanced between matte and glossy, and has a fine grain pebble texture. METALLIC PAPER - This paper has a unique metallic sheen that creates images with exceptional interest, stunning impact, and depth. In addition to delivering rich, vibrant colors, this paper offers century-plus image stability. PLEASE NOTE: All paper images arrive un-matted and unframed. However, a wide variety of mounting and framing options are available on my website: www.reneesullivan.com ----------------------------------- ** ABOUT METAL PRINTS ** Metal prints are an exciting high definition display option that transforms images into vibrant works of art. They are extremely durable: scratch, stain and UV resistant, with a waterproof surface that can be cleaned easily with a damp cloth. The revolutionary metal printing process infuses the image directly into an 1/8” aluminum sheet of metal giving it an extremely vivid, luminescent 3D appearance that makes the image pop and come to life. The result is truly incredible. Feel confident that your new and vibrant high-definition artwork will last for years! Sleek and sophisticated metal photo prints need no frame. They are lightweight and arrive ready to hang. Please note that the hanging mounts on the back of metal prints can differ from the examples shown in the listing photo, and may be made of metal or other materials, depending on the lab. A wide variety of mounting and framing options for metal prints are available on my website: www.reneesullivan.com ------------------------------------- ** ABOUT CANVAS PRINTS - GALLERY WRAPS and FRAMED CANVAS ** My chosen lab uses only the best museum quality canvas and professional grade, archival inks. The canvas has a built-in coating which makes it moisture and UV protected, and abrasion resistant. Tested by Wilhelm Research, the lightfast, archival inks are designed to last for decades when kept away from direct sunlight. GICLEE CANVAS GALLERY WRAP - This is a frameless presentation and arrives ready to hang. A gallery wrap is a method of stretching the canvas artwork so that it wraps around the sides of a 1.5" stretcher bar, and is secured to the back of the wooden frame. Canvas Wraps 36" and smaller (on the longest side) will have a thinner wrap. Mirrored Sides - the outer edge of the image is mirrored on the wrap sides. GICLEE CANVAS GALLERY WRAP IN A FLOATER FRAME - Your image is stretched on a 3/4" Gallery Wrap, then expertly mounted in a custom 1.5" deep Floater Frame. The canvas appears to “float” inside the frame – with the wrapped edges visible in the gap between the canvas and the frame (see listing photo example). Take your pick of frame colors – Solid Black, Solid White, or Espresso (dark brown) with an etched wood grain effect. The size you choose will be the outside dimensions of the frame. Your canvas will be sized to fit. --------------------------------------- **All orders ship directly from photo lab** *Please note that not all options are available in countries outside the USA*

You may have never heard of the George Hotel, which once sat at the top of Buchanan Street in Glasgow like a ‘great carbuncle’, but you have probably seen parts of its interiors from films like Trainspotting (the circular room used as a backdrop for the drug scene with Keith Allen) or The Big Man … Continue reading "One Last Look at the Hotel where ‘Trainspotting’, ‘The Big Man’, ‘Taggart’ and Other Shows Were Filmed"

This picture gallery features atmospheric images of London streets in the 1930s, before the Blitz, before the clean air act. It was a city of gloomy back streets lit by dim lamps, with forbidding alleys and the occasional welcoming light. The photographs are from a book called London Night, by John Morrison and Harold Burdekin, which was published in 1934. They were recently posted on The Library Time Machine, a blog run by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Library Service.
