These 20 task cards feature multiplication and division facts used in one-step story problems. Students gain confidence and problem-solving skills using basic facts for 2s through 9s. Ideal for division and multiplication fact fluency practice. About these task cards: Students must decide if they need to multiply or divide The one-step problems use only basic facts Problems are basic facts from 2s through 9s Some problems feature “unstated” numbers - for example, students must know there are seven days in a week and how much “half a dozen” means Most cards contain just the basic information needed to solve the story problem, and they're written in a straightforward manner. However, other cards are more “wordy” and contain some extra, unnecessary information that can be eliminated. *Cards 17 – 24 could be considered challenge cards. They're the toughest problems, so read over them before assigning them to students. Looking for a word-problem strategy to use with your students? Try the CUBES/CUBED word problem-solving strategy. This resource contains the following items: 1) Multiplying & Dividing Integers “Which One Doesn’t Belong?” PARTNER ACTIVITY · Partner A & Partner B receive different worksheets with 10 questions each. · Each question will contain 4 integer expressions (multiplying/dividing); three of which are equivalent to each other (each student will be evaluating a total of 40 integer expressions). · Each partner will decide which expression is not equivalent to the other three. · When finished, partners should compare their answers. The expressions that did NOT belong should be equivalent to each other when they compare their answers. 2) Multiplying & Dividing Integers MAZE Activity 3) Answer Keys to All Parts The built-in answer key process for both of these activities is a GREAT way for them to receive immediate feedback without having to wait for their paper to be graded! This resource was developed to PARTIALLY meet the requirements of the 7th Grade Number Systems Standards below: CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.7.NS.A.2 Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division and of fractions to multiply and divide rational numbers. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.7.NS.A.2.B Understand that integers can be divided, provided that the divisor is not zero, and every quotient of integers (with non-zero divisor) is a rational number. If p and q are integers, then -(p/q) = (-p)/q = p/(-q). Interpret quotients of rational numbers by describing real-world contexts. It's time to review for the 3rd grade standardized math test and you want to make it fun and meaningful! You need to spend your time wisely and keep the kids engaged! This no-prep word problem activity will help your students visualize multiplication and division. This is a great activity to help students who struggle to decide whether to multiply or divide when confronted with a word problem. This activity helps kids act out what it means to split into equal groups OR add equal groups. Included: 10 scaffolded problems with manipulatives to act out the problem and drag and drop pieces to build an equation. Level 2: 4 problems in which students act out the problem with drag and drop pieces. This time, students count the manipulatives they need and supply the numbers for the equations. Level 3: Students write 5-word problems that require multiplication and division. Students "act out" the problem with manipulatives and build an equation that represents their story problem. Differentiation: You can allow students to work on problems 1-10 and view levels 2 and 3 as early finisher activities. I often give students the choice to repeat level 1 if they are struggling until they feel they have mastered understanding. A MORE MEANINGFUL WAY TO REVIEW: This review game will prepare your students for their standardized tests in a fun, meaningful way. Here's why. It often feels like review activities are just an opportunity to bore students who have already mastered concepts and stress kids who have never mastered the skill. Very few kids seem to benefit from traditional reviews in my classroom. When I developed these reviews, I tried to make them work for ALL students. Games are self-checking, so students get instant feedback on mistakes Drag and drop clues build confidence and scaffold learners. Enrichment opportunities are offered to early finishers, so everyone is learning at their own pace. This game is included in the Firefly Camp Test Prep Bundle. With these resources you can review 3rd-grade math standards through fun, differentiated no-prep digital activities. Check out the bundle here!
This Multiplication Word Problems Worksheet Collection includes 9 pages of multi-digit multiplication and/or division problems. These worksheets include built-in grid / graph paper so students can show their work neatly. This is the third set of this series. I created this series because I wasn’t finding exactly what I was looking for on TPT. I wanted a set of multiplication and division word problems that covered a variety of situations and digit numbers. I also wanted grids on the paper so my students could keep their numbers in line and make it easier for me to check and read. Once I made the multiplication and division sets, I wanted another set where the students had to really read the problems to decide what to do to solve them. Thus, this last set was born! There are 3 or 4 problems on each page, depending on how much grid space I thought was needed for the problems in that set. Problems increase in difficulty as the challenge numbers increase. I have included two different worksheets for the harder levels that students usually need more practice with. Included is a page of each of the following: Worksheet 1: 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication and division Worksheet 2: 3 digit by 1 digit multiplication and division Worksheet 3: 4 digit by 1 digit multiplication and division Worksheet 4: 2 digit by 2 or 3 digit multiplication and division Worksheet 5: more 2 digit by 2 or 3 digit multiplication and division Worksheet 6: 4 digit by 2 digit multiplication and division Worksheet 7: more 4 digit by 2 digit multiplication and division Ultimate Challenge 1: Harder multiplication and division Ultimate Challenge 2: Harder multiplication and division An answer key and an extra sheet of the grid paper is included for ease of use. Word problems can be difficult for students. This 32 word problems are just what you need for extra practice on word problems. They are split up into three sets. The final set, enrichment practice, has a mixture of the first two and includes a couple of multi-step problems. These worksheets contain answer keys to allow students to self check. You can also pick between a standard sheet, as seen in the preview, and a sheet that includes boarders and a more fancy print. I finished the binding on the X and + quilt while I watched TV last night. I LOVE this quilt! I was explaining to my art quilting group that each block is a project in itself for this quilt. You don't plan the whole quilt; you plan each block and when you have enough of them made you lay them out in a pleasing arrangement. I have a piece of a Kaffe Fassett green print inserted across the backing of a Jane Sassaman print. Two of the art quilters brought their finished trip around the world quilt tops. This is the center of the one above. The rail of my quilting machine is in the way to see the whole quilt from this angle but this photo showed the African fabrics the best. Here is the full view. I thought the students from my 2 classes might like to see some alternate fabric choices. I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing or making this quilt pattern.
