It’s officially spring and I am so, so ready. I don’t really have a favorite season, but I love the changing of seasons, and I love when spring comes even though my allergies always go crazy. Arabela and I are headed to LA next week to host a workshop with Pretty Thing , and we are planning on taki
Even a small garden can enjoy a beautiful mini meadow with wildflowers. It's easy - but not as simple as just letting your grass grow. Find out here!
www.davidrironsjrphotography.com I hope you are not getting tired of Mount Rainier shots? I have so many from the numerous trips I made this past August, that I want to share them. This year was fantastic for wildflowers with so many flowering at the same time! This was shot on that morning where the mountain was covered in fog and a list mist had been falling. All of the flowers were covered in dew drops, and there just seemed to be a sense of peace while walking the trails above Paradise. This is three exposures merged and tonemapped in Photomatix. I did a little "Dodge and Burn" in Photoshop as well as added a slight vignette in Lightroom. Thank you for your views, comments and faves! I appreciate them. Alice Talks about Irma Meadow: "I LOVE Irma - it comes from one of my all time favourite Liberty collections - 'Flower Show' from 2013 which had some wonderful and timeless Liberty designs. This is one of my favourite summer prints so we wanted to bring you a new colourway with different tones. When looking at colours, I realised that there wasn't a soft pink Irma with a stronger pink for the poppy so we worked on that design to create a perfect new print. It's such a beautiful design and has so many flowers that I love. Irma is like a wildflower meadow - with poppies, cow parsley, astrantia (I've seen this grow wild in the French alps) and shepherds purse which is so sweet. I'm dreaming of wafty summer dresses and will definitely be making one for my summer holidays. Anna and I made our girls dresses in one of the Irma colourways a few years ago which was inspired by the Cinderella film from 2015 (young Cinderella ran through the wildflower fields of her childhood in this exact dress!) Meticulously printed to retain exact brushstrokes and pencil marks, Irma combines euphorbia, poppies, astrantia and iberis to create a delicate ethereal meadow. Originally created as part of the SS13 ‘Flower Show’. This print reminds us of childhood dresses – this was used in the Disney 2015 film Cinderella. Fat Quarter : 45cm x 67cm, (18″ x 26.5″) By the metre : 137cm (54″) wide, (1m = 39″) 100% Cotton Tana Lawn
First days of spring last year on National Bison Range land. I've never seen Montana so green, patiently waiting...
These gardens really are the most intense colour fix I've ever seen - beautiful planting and everything is complemntary to its neighbour and provides a beautiful backdrop for the next flower - making for some bokehlicious backgrounds!!

A beautiful, colorful digital illustration showing the hike around Silver Star Mountain in Southwest Washington, the best display of wildflowers I've ever seen. We hike almost every Sunday and this place outshines them all! (Although the road up is VERY rocky!) This was on the 4th of July, the peak of the wildflower season. This illustration is 11 x 14 which includes a 1 inch border on all sides. I'm constantly working on new illustrations. Check badk!

Thanks to Uber and BarclayCardUS for sponsoring this post! Ever since I started traveling solo eight years ago, I have collected plenty of tips on how to save money and how to spend wisely. I’ve also made plenty of expensive mistakes! What I have learned is that saving money while traveling is not necessarily the […]
Here a sampling of the wildflowers that I saw in March and April of this year. With each photo below, I’ve identified the flower and indicated when and where it…
Just came back from a trip to the San Juan Mountains for a little wildflower shooting with good bud, Steve Flowers. American Basin, in particular, was incredible with the best collection of healthy blue columbine I've ever seen. This early morning capture was a testament to that. Unfortunately, later that day, a nasty hail storm blew through the basin and all the columbine were toasted. Mother Nature giveth...and then taketh away!
Two months after a storm that dropped a year's rainfall in a single day, visitors to the national park are encountering a a strange place made stranger — and...

Recently I took a weeknight adventure in the UP to Hall Farms to see their sunflower field… which is the most magical sunflower field I’ve ever seen. I went last year, but it was just past peak, so I knew this year… I needed to pounce as soon as I heard it was ready. I made it just in time for that
