About The Artwork This little painting was done for an exhibition in South Africa, titled the Mystic Boer, after a song by local artist Valiant Swart. This song has very interesting lyrics, dealing with a mystic boer (the title for an Afrikaner from South Africa) that is chased for forty days. He is seen on several occasions, but they can never catch up with him. I felt this setting added to the mysticism and the character that vanishes in the mountains. The blue mountains, the mist, the forest and the long grass give me a feeling of peace, quiet and tranquility, and I hope the viewer will also find joy in this.
