One of my most favorite things to do is create memorable birthday parties for my girls. Every year after their party, their brains are busy planning for the next year. Here is one of our favorites, more parties to come soon... Emily Wonka Party Emily loves to plan her parties after her favorite movies. She loves the original Willy Wonka movie, so after watching it several times, and searching the Internet for ideas, we started the preparation. My inspiration came from this amazing Willy Wonka Party. Fizzy Lifting Drink burping contest, Bubblegum bubble blowing contest, Veruca's Golden Egg Hunt, Charlie Bucket's Candy Toss, Violet's Blueberry Squeeze, Augustus Gloop's Chocolate Fountain were a few of the activities before they entered the Chocolate Factory. The invitation was the chocolate bar, with the Golden Ticket inside. The guests were so cute waving their tickets in hand when they got to the party. The Invitation... The Decorations...most I made on the computer and cut out. I used alot of the American Girl scrapbook paper, found at Michael's. I made the banner, by folding scrapbook paper and cutting into triangles. I placed ribbon in between the fold at the top and sewed it together. I made the labels and covered them with packing tape. We used all "Crush" Drinks--Orange, Strawberry & Grape. I even had the bubble machine going in the background outside when they had the contest. The Candy Shoppe The bubblegum machine was the party favor, found at the Dollar Store. My girls added the stickers. They also got to visit the Candy Shoppe and fill up their bags with Wonka Candy! The Games... Drawing Everlasting Gobstoppers. I put a hole in the balloons with a safety pin, and the kids squeezed the water (juice) out of the "blueberries". Used our corn hole game to toss the beanbag candies through the hole. I made the beanbags out of felt, and stuffed them with rice. This was the highlight of the party: Lickable Wallpaper - Candy Dots (the snozzberries taste like snozzberries!) Each child had their own section with their name. The kids had to sign the contract before entering the Chocolate Factory. This was an awesome party, hope you can use some of the ideas ;-)

So are you a Gene Wilder or a Johnny Depp Willy Wonka fan? Me? I'm a little of both. I loved both movies and so making these cookies for my daughter's school play was a total blast!
