About A set of four 19th century large hand-carved wood high back armchairs.
I've been assembling literally hundreds of Peter Galbert's calipers for the past two weeks. The work is repetitive, which gives my mind the opportunity to wander. It has been wandering mostly in the spoon direction. I've been corresponding with spoon carver Paul Linden recently and he turned me on to a great visual spoon design reference. The digitized collections of the Swedish Museums have hundreds and hundreds of photographs of wooden spoons. You can search the collection for sked which is swedish for spoon and watch a couple of hours fly by very quickly. This is an unbelievable reference that I have already begun to borrow from. A big thank you to the Swedish Museums for sharing their collections this way. As I scrolled through the images I copied the ones that I liked to share here and I ended up with over fifty. Some of them have great form, some amazing kolrosed or chip carved designs, and some have great form and amazing carved designs. Click on the images to make them bigger, it is worth it. Enjoy.

Vintage Wooden Crate - Original Vintage Wood Crate - Vintage Cedarcrest Bog Cranberry Crate - Vintage Farmhouse Decor - Old Wooden Crate We just picked up a great collection of old wooden cranberry crates. These boxes come from an old farm in Duxbury, Massachusetts. This box has writing on two ends. CEDARCREST BOG CO. There is an old stamp 1941 that you can see as well. This box has a small chip of wood missing from one side. The nails are popping through in a few places. Needs some tightening up. These boxes make beautiful flower boxes in the garden. Please note flowers are for pictures only and are not included (yes, people do ask :) The crate is 22 1/2" wide by 16" deep and 9 1/2" tall. This listing is for one box - to is the exact box that is shown in the first 8 pictures. The last two pictures are a group shot of the other similar looking crates. Use: This is a vintage cranberry crate - these were used heavily in southeastern MA - but the wooden crates are no longer used today at most farms - as they have switched to plastic bins Please take a look at the pictures and let us know if you have any questions. All of our items our original vintage pieces. We do not sell "vintage look" we only buy and sell the real things. All of our items come with normal wear and tear from years of use. Our wooden boxes may have nicks, scratches, wood splints, our spa buckets may have a little rust around the lip - but we will always call out major imperfections in our listing. Take a look at the pictures for good details and let us know if you have any questions.

About This wooden beauty was originally used to collect grapes from the vineyards during the "vendange" or grape harvest. It has an elaborate and quite stunning woven design to the top and bottom rims and has been branded with the initials "ML" under one handle. Hand-made of sycamore and pine with wrought iron banding, we have left it in original found condition, but you may want to polish it with butcher's wax to remove the whitish areas and use it as a planter, kindling bucket, or storage for magazines and newspapers. Whatever use you choose, it is a stunning piece and will give you decades of pleasure inside or out. Please note it does not have drain holes, but we can drill them if you like. Measures: H 16 in, D 23 in, W 39" with handles W: 30" without handles.
