The Honda CM250 was a 234cc air-cooled parallel twin produced from 1981-1983. The bike -- a predecessor to the Rebel 250 -- had decidedly "cruiser-ish" styling, though European-spec models offered a healthy 27 horsepower for the displacement.Enter Max Inhulsen of The Netherlands, who bought

One of the world's most renowned customizers builds himself a scrambler...The Suzuki TU250, better known as the Grasstracker or Volty in some markets, is a lightweight single-cylinder street bike introduced in 1994 -- a throwback to the UJM machines of the 1960s-70s, featuring an air-cooled two-

We're always curious to see what bikes the world's top custom builders choose to ride themselves. Because more often than not, they're very different from the machines that make headlines and win awards. Kengo Kimura and his shop, Heiwa Motorcycle, need little introduction. Kimura-san's builds regularly leave our jaws on the floor, and he has multiple awards from the famed Mooneyes custom show to his name. But his latest personal project is this decidedly unpretentious Suzuki scrambler. It's based on a 2004-model Suzuki TU250 Grasstracker Big Boy, which is close to the ST250 that Kengo used for his last scrambler

We are so excited to showcase the newest build from one of our favorite builders, Revolt Cycles of the Philippines. The Honda XL100, first produced in 1974, was a near-unkillable little enduro, capable of thumping away for decades under the harshest conditions, with the barest of maintenance. The bi

Most custom Honda Dominators trade their original lines for a cleaner, flat-tracker inspired look. This particular one breaks that mould with a rough, throwback scrambler vibe—and we dig it. It belongs to Nico, co-founder of French moto lifestyle site 4H10. With two café builds under his belt, he wanted a daily runner with a totally different style. “Café-racers are boring in Paris,” says Nico. “They are too heavy, too hard to turn, uncomfortable and perhaps a little too mainstream.” “I wanted the complete opposite—a lightweight, cheap and strong motorbike. A bike I could use every day, and everywhere.” The “Dirty
Small Budget, Big Heart -- 1000-Euro, Elsinore-Inspired ScramblerIn stock trim, the Honda FX650 Vigor -- a re-released version of the SLR650 -- is no looker. MCN called the bike: "A fairly joyless machine that barely redeems itself as a reasonably efficient commuter." However, the big single d
A peek at the turbo'd Yamaha that took top honors at the Forged Invitational show, a wild FZ-09 by Droog Moto, Chris Nelson's custom Ducati Scrambler, and a modded Ducati 749 that tips the scales at just 378 pounds. Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. Yamaha FZ-09 by Droog Moto Concepts Arizona-based Droog Moto Concepts seem to have a penchant for post-apocalyptic builds. Their latest project is this FZ-09 based scrambler that looks ready to run down a fleet of flesh-eating zombies. It’s riding on TKC80s and fitted with a front fender barely big enough to rest

A Yamaha SR250 built for city scrambling...The Yamaha SR250 is a legendary model, an 21-hp air-cooled single whose heart and performance has always outshone mere datasheets and specifications. The bike shared much with the XT250 dirt bike, making this little SR a perfect scrambler candidate.
Federal Moto have the Midas touch. The builds coming out of their Chicago workshop are sharp-edged, compact and big hits with our readers. But sometimes, success can be a double-edged sword. After releasing ‘The Sunshine State of Mind’ SR500 in 2016, Federal were bombarded with requests for a replica build. “But there’s no fun in building the same bike twice,” says lead builder Mike Müller. “We love the support, but we also want our clients to have a one-of-a-kind bike.” So Federal generally suggest to their clients that they build another one-of-a-kind bike. “Just as thumpy, just as wheelie-enabled, and just
So here it is - another build thread. This time round, I'm taking a perfectly good bike apart, instead of building one up from scratch. Hate me or love...
