PLEASE NOTE: Made to Order listings will be shipped within 2-3 weeks. This listing is for ONE skein. Photos might include more than one skein or different yarn bases. The photos are meant to show the different variations that can occur between different yarn bases and dye batches. Please keep in mind there will be small differences between each different yarn base used as well as each skein of yarn since that is the beauty and nature of hand dyed yarn. All of my yarn is sourced from ethically and environmentally-focused suppliers and is mulesing free. This yarn is hand dyed and made in small batches. If you order multiple skeins, I will do my best to ensure they come from the same batch when possible. No two skeins will be exactly alike due to the nature of hand dyed yarn, but they are very similar. If using multiple skeins for a project, it is recommended to alternate skeins of hand dyed yarn to allow for the changes between skeins. The yarn will arrive in a twisted hank. If you need yarn winding service, please go to: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1113984720/yarn-winding-service-add-on-service Yarn Bases: Summit Sock: 85% Extra fine Superwash Merino Wool / 15% Nylon 437yds / 100g skein Summit Sparkle Sock: 75% Extra fine Superwash Merino Wool / 15% Nylon / 10% Silver Stellina 437yds / 100g skein Bumblebee Slub Sock: 90% Superwash Merino Wool / 10% Nylon 438yds / 100g skein Summit DK: 85% Extra fine Superwash Merino Wool / 15% Nylon 246yds / 100g skein Evergreen DK: 100% Superwash Merino Wool 231yds / 100g skein Evergreen Worsted: 100% Superwash Merino Wool 218yds / 100g skein Bayshore Bulky: 100% Extra fine Superwash Merino Wool 109yds / 100g skein Pacific Bulky (1-ply): 100% Extra fine Superwash Merino Wool 109yds / 100g skein I do my best to accurately display the colors in my color ways. However, the colors may vary slightly from one computer screen to another depending on the settings. Care Instructions: All of our yarn is dyed with the highest quality dyes and I rinse all yarns after dyeing to remove any excess dyes, but with all dyed products, indie or commercial, some light bleeding can occur. I strongly recommend washing your finished product SEPARATELY in COLD water the first few times you wash it. If any light bleeding occurs, don't worry! It won't affect the brightness or intensity of the colors. Although this is superwash wool, which can be machine washed (on cold), it should not be put through the dryer. After washing, reshape your garment and lay flat to dry. Hand washing finished garments is recommended and can also extend their life.
This hand-dyed artisanal yarn is no ordinary knitting yarn: the designer behind the knitting patterns Louise Robert Design meticulously created this beautiful collection. It's by studying the color pallets that represent her life and career over the years that designer Louise Robert was able to imagine all of the variety available in these hand-dyed artisanal yarns. When I met the man who became my husband, I was surprised to discover that he was a fan of Elvis Presley. I knew Elvis by his reputation but had never listened to his music. Since 1996, on vacation with the children and alongside the man I love, I discovered the many melodies of the King and I was in turn charmed. Wonder of You is a song I particularly like because it reminds me of my love affair with the man in my life. - Louise Composition: 90% Merino wool, 10% Silk Quantity (Weight): 115 grams, 4 oz Length: 238 meters (260 yds) Gauge: 20 - 24 stitches = 10 cm (4 in) Needles: 4 mm (US # 6) Care: Hand-wash in cold water, dry flat If you love to knit with Biscotte Yarns, you will fall head over heels with this artisanal, hand-dyed DK Pure yarn by Louise Robert Design. Ever wondered what a true yarn addict might look like? Ponder no more..... I spent a little bit of 'quality' time with my yarn this morning as I was prepping for a guest blog over on The Crochet Crowd. The self-timer feature on my camera is dangerous....With nobody looking, it was pretty easy to get into playing with my yarn....easier than I thought actually.... This is my guilty 'Yes....I really am sitting in my box of yarn right now' look. I've ALWAYS wanted to do this, hehe. Dreams really do come true! Don't tell me you've never given your yarn

There are lots of terms in knitting that we recognise in every day life. Then there are those that confuse us as we've never heard them before! We're going to go through the intricacies of aran yarn today. And recognise that 'aran knitting' is also a widely used term as well as 'aran yarn'.
Have you ever found yourself drowning in a sea of yarn? Do you have bags, boxes, and baskets full of skeins with no idea of what you have or where to find it? As a knitter or crocheter, it's all too easy to accumulate a massive stash of yarn. But with a little bit of organization, your hoard can become a source of joy and creativity. In this post, we'll provide you with tips and tricks on how to assess your stash, sort wisely, label everything, utilize storage space, and even create your dream stash. Follow our guide to transform your yarn overload into a well-organized collection that maximizes your crafting time and minimizes the stress of searching for the perfect skein. Let's get started! Assess Your Stash Before you start organizing your yarn stash, it's important to assess what you have. Take some time to go through every skein and determine its color, weight, fiber content, and yardage. This will help you sort your yarn more efficiently and avoid purchasing duplicates. If you are anything like me, yarn gets lost in the back of a pile and you completely forget you even had it lol As you assess your stash, consider your current and future projects. Do you have enough yarn to complete them? Are there any colors or fibers that you're missing? Make a list of what you need and keep it handy for future yarn shopping trips. I like to keep a note in my notes app on my phone of projects I want to make but actually need the yarn for ( as opposed to just wanting the yarn lol). This helps me when I go to a festival or something to be able to look at my list and buy yarn for a specific project. Another helpful tip is to group your yarn by color or fiber type. This will not only make it easier for you to find what you're looking for, but it will also inspire new project ideas as you see the colors and textures together. I like to try and keep all my sock sets together & all my single skeins together. Assessing your stash may seem like a daunting task, but it's a crucial step in the organization process. Take your time and enjoy getting reacquainted with your hoard of yarn. I try to do this twice a year now. Sometimes you simply grow out of a certain kind/color/type of yarn and thats ok! It's better to go through and sort what you have and decide on what you actually want to keep regularly. Sort Wisely When it comes to sorting your yarn, it's important to approach it with a level head. Don't get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of it all lol. Take a deep breath and start small. Grouping your yarn by color or fiber type is a great place to start. This will make it easier for you to find what you need when you're in the middle of a project. It will also help you see your yarn in a new light, inspiring new project ideas as you see the colors and textures together. Another way to sort your yarn is by weight. This is especially useful if you have a specific project in mind that requires a certain weight. By keeping your yarn organized by weight, you can easily find what you need without having to sift through everything. And you do not have to do all this at once. No one is making you pull out every single skein of yarn you own and go through it all at once. You can do it piece by piece or shelf or shelf! Label Everything Once you have sorted your yarn by weight, it is important to label everything or atleast designate certain drawers/shelves for certain yarns. For example, I have a drawer dedicated to scrap yarn! This simple step will make your life so much easier when it comes to finding the right yarn for your project. Labeling your yarn can be done in a variety of ways depending on your personal preference. You can use pre-made labels or create your own using a label maker or even just a marker and some paper. Labeling your yarn not only helps you identify the weight of each yarn, but it also helps you track your yarn inventory. By knowing exactly what you have in your stash, you can avoid buying duplicates or running out of a specific color mid-project. Plus, when you do need to purchase more yarn, having an organized stash and labeled inventory will make it easier to know what to look for. I know some makers will group their yarn by project and put it all together in a ziploc bag & label it. Now that you have everything labeled, it's time to utilize your storage space., Utilize Storage Space When it comes to organizing your stash, it's not just about labeling your yarn. Utilizing your storage space is just as important to ensure that your stash stays neat and tidy. The first step is to assess the space you have available, whether it's a dedicated yarn room or a few shelves in a closet (like me lol). Take measurements and figure out the best way to maximize the space you have. You have to work with what you got! As someone who lives in a downtown condo in a large city, space is limted! I keep most of my yarn in a closet (this is also because my cat eats it *sighs* ), & in some lockable rubbermade under the bed bins! One way to utilize your storage space is to invest in a few storage containers. These can range from plastic totes to decorative baskets, depending on your personal style & situation. Use these containers to separate your yarn by weight or color, and label them accordingly. This not only keeps your yarn organized but also makes it easy to find what you need when you need it. Another way to maximize your storage space is to think vertically. Installing shelves or using a bookshelf to store your yarn can be a game-changer. I got some wire cube shelves from amazon and set them up inside a closet for extra shelf space! I also have some items like my ball winder and swift in a bag that I loop over a hanger and just hang up in the closet! Ultimately, the key to utilizing your storage space is to get creative. Don't be afraid to think outside the box and find solutions that work for you and your space. By doing so, you'll be able to create a stash that is not only organized but also a reflection of your personal style. Creating Your Dream Stash Now that you have an organized stash, it's time to think about how you can further personalize it to make it your dream collection. Your dream stash should reflect your personal taste and knitting goals. Start by identifying a color scheme that resonates with you. Do you love bright and bold hues or soft pastels? Choosing a color scheme will help you narrow down your buying options and ensure that your stash is cohesive. Consider the types of yarn fibers you prefer working with. Do you love the softness of alpaca or the durability of wool? Maybe you want to experiment with plant-based fibers like cotton or bamboo. Whatever your preference, make sure to stock up on yarns that meet your preferred fiber content. Another consideration when building your dream stash is to think about the projects you want to tackle. Are you interested in knitting a sweater, a scarf, or perhaps a shawl? You'll want to make sure you have enough yarn on hand to complete your projects without worrying about running out. Finally, don't be afraid to splurge on luxury yarns or unique colorways that catch your eye if you can afford to do so. Your dream stash should make you feel inspired and excited to create. By investing in yarns that bring you joy, you'll be more likely to use them in new and exciting ways. With a well-organized stash and a clear vision of your dream collection, you'll be ready to take your knitting to the next level., tackling yarn overload can be a daunting task, but it doesn't have to be. By taking the time to assess your stash, sort wisely, label everything, utilize storage space, and create your dream stash, you'll be able to organize your skeins in a way that sparks joy and creativity. Remember, a well-organized stash can help maximize your crafting time and minimize stress. So, why not give it a try? Don't let a cluttered yarn stash stifle your creativity - start organizing today!

If it’s found a home in my line, rest assured that it’s the best yarn around (and I’ve tested many, many skeins!). Each skein is dyed with wash & light fast acid dyes. That means they'll look bright and beautiful through many wearings and washings. Acid dyes are a non-toxic, manufactured dye which uses citric acid (a powdered acid derived from citrus fruit) to set the dye. Acid dyes are safe, and help me keep my colors as consistent as possible from batch to batch.
