This listing is for one skein of yarn. This yarn is custom dyed to order so you can choose your base. By default, our yarn will come to you in a skein and you will need to wind it into a ball or cake before using it. Otherwise, we do offer our ball winding service here: https://bluebarnfiber.etsy.com/listing/643478077 If you want us to do it, please be sure to purchase the ball winding at the same time as your yarn order (otherwise I can’t guarantee that we will do it because I won’t see it on the order when I go to ship it). A formatted list of our (regularly offered) yarn bases is available on our website at: https://bluebarnfiber.com/pages/our-yarn-bases . The number of bases listed on Etsy is currently limited due to our move, but more options are available on our website. Important: please buy everything you need for your project all at once so I can do my best to ensure the yarn matches well. We have several colorways that will not be identical even if dyed at the same time, so we recommend alternating skeins if matching is a concern. I cannot stress enough how important this is. Shipping: PLEASE READ THIS! In September of 2023, we took a month off to move from Idaho to North Carolina to be close to a special clinic for our daughter. We have finished moving and are getting settled in - this means that I’m catching up on orders rapidly. However, until I am fully caught up, all new orders will take about 2 weeks to ship. I will do my best to get the shipping time frame back down to one week as quickly as possible. Thanks for understanding! Updates will be posted on our instagram at https://www.instagram.com/bluebarnfiber/ . As with all hand dyed items, we recommend hand washing your yarn/finished item in cool water and laying it flat to dry. We rinse this yarn until the water runs crystal clear, but small amounts of excess dye may rarely come off with the first couple of washings. If this happens, rest assured that it is only excess dye and should not affect the coloring of your yarn in any way. If a large amount of bleeding ever occurs with any of our items, please contact us so we can make it right. We always recommend hand washing handmade items to preserve the longevity of your beautiful work. We recommend using cool water and a neutral soap, such as baby shampoo, Soak, Unicorn, or Eucalan when blocking your finished item if you are knitting or crocheting it. Extra note: I photograph our products with the utmost care taken to ensure that the color in the photos accurately represents what you will get. Please keep in mind that different monitors can display colors differently and there may also be slight variations from batch to batch. This yarn is dyed by hand and not by a machine. This means that small variations are normal, such as a speckle or spot here or there. These little nuances are a part of what makes hand dyed yarn beautiful.

{pightle - east anglian origin; a small enclosed grass field near to the homestead} Pightle is a smooth, soft, superwash merino yarn with medium twist that takes colour beautifully and allows us to explore all the dye techniques we love. A 'go-to' yarn at 400m per 100g skein, it is perfect for sweaters, cardigans, shawls and accessories. The merino, sourced sustainably in South America and guaranteed mulesing-free, has been superwash treated for ease of care. This yarn qualifies for our 'sweater quantity' discount ~ Buy 6 full size, full price skeins of meadowyarn hand-dyed yarn and get 15% OFF ~ Discount applied automatically ~ Mix-and-match across yarn bases ~ Does not apply to mini-skeins, limited edition collections, or 'sale' yarn ~ May not be used in conjunction with any other discount code. Some shades of pightle | fingering/4ply are also available 'dyed-to-order' here. We dye Pightle in small batches using a combination of kettle dyeing for semi-solid and tonal shades and low-immersion and hand-painting for variegated shades that will 'pool' or 'flash' depending on gauge. Even within a dye batch, each skein is unique as a result of our dyeing techniques.Although Pightle is a superwash fibre, we recommend hand washing in cool water to preserve the vibrancy of the dye. As with all small-batch, hand-dyed yarn that doesn't have dye lots, we also recommend knitting alternate rows from two skeins when working on larger projects to avoid noticeable changes between skeins. We use professional acid dyes with good light and wash fastness and do our best to exhaust every dye bath and to reuse water wherever possible to reduce any further environmental impact. Occasionally a small amount of 'loose' dye may remain in the yarn after rinsing (most likely with deeply saturated shades) and we always recommend hand washing in very cool water and pre-washing your yarn separately if you are intending to mix light and dark shades in a single garment/project. weight: sock or 4ply fibre: 100% wool – superwash merino needle size: 2.00 - 3.50mm metres: 400m per 100gm skein care: Hand wash in cool water using gentle wool detergent

Our most popular colorway is now available in Worsted Weight! 85/15 Superwash Merino/Nylon Worsted Weight 100 gram skein/196 yards Or 100% Superwash Merino Worsted Weight 100g/219 yards Each skein is carefully hand dyed by me in small batches, using high quality, super soft yarns, and acid dyes. Because of this, each skein is truly a unique creation, and a one of a kind colorway. These yarns are wonderful for shawls, sweaters, hats, and anything else you can think of! When using hand-dyed yarns in a project that requires more than one skein, it is strongly recommended to alternate skeins every other row of knitting to even out any differences. Lastly, as with any hand dyed yarn, please expect some variation from skein to skein (even within the same batch), as each skein is individually hand painted. I always attempt to take photos that accurately represent each colorway correctly, however color and intensity may vary with your monitor settings. Care instructions: I dye my yarn with professional acid dyes. The skeins are washed and rinsed thoroughly, although light bleeding may occur during the first wash. Hand wash in cool water (do not soak or use additives or “wool wash”) and lay flat to dry. Please Note: This listing is for ONE full size skein, unless otherwise noted. If you are unsure, please message me prior to purchasing. Thank you! **Many of our items are made to order, please check shipping timeframes when checking out. If you are in need of expedited processing, we do have an add-on option for expedited order processing. Please be aware that choosing this option ONLY affects processing times, and does NOT change shipping timeframes. For expedited shipping please see our expedited shipping add-on.** *Please Note: Items that are non-superwash or have silk may not take the dye as vibrantly as superwash or non-silk items.
