Because fungus is challenging to find and photograph, fungi photos are less common than flower pics, but they're just as beautiful.
Immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of colour that captures the essence of the Machair's unique beauty. This striking print, inspired by the Yellow rattle, a characteristic wildflower of the Outer Hebrides, conjures a sense of the tranquil yet untamed Scottish wilderness. With bold strokes and an exuberant use of cadmium yellow, ultramarine and white, the artwork evokes a bright summer's day when the flora is in full bloom against a clear sky. The canvas is awash with hues that mirror the luminous golden fields native to this coastal habitat. In the foreground, the yellow and amber tones blend harmoniously, dotted with elements of green, capturing the wild and natural growth of the Yellow rattle amidst the grasses. Although this work is firmly anchored in the Color Field tradition, the subtle suggestion of distant hills and a serene azure sky introduces a delicate balance of abstract and realistic elements. The viewer's eye is led through the lush fields to the expansive sky overhead, where dynamic and soft brushwork combine to illustrate the fleeting clouds. This print is a celebration of Scotland's floral splendour and a testament to the beauty that can be found in the simplest of wildflowers. Offering a moment of calm and contemplation, this piece is a perfect homage to the serene landscapes and the riot of colour that is the Machair in full bloom.
My parents used to have two phones in the house when I grew up. A beige version of this phone (circa 1968) that hung on the wall in the kitchen. The other one was a desk model up in my parents bedroom. That is it.. no answering machine, no fax, certainly no internet. If you called and my parents were home they would answer the phone - no caller id either. If they weren't home, you would have to call again later. Much simpler times. I learned to dial phones on a phone like this.
Add an eye-popping assortment of red flowers to your garden, and you'll be thrilled with the bold color they add to your landscape.
. Pantone 2017 was revealed just a couple of days ago and we are all already in love with it: Greenery (Pantone 13-0343) Greenery is the symbol of new beginnings, a refreshing and revitalizing shade of green with a really small dose of yellow. This fresh and zesty yellow-green shade evokes the first days of spring, talks about nature’s […]

This embracingly hearty meal of a soup always makes me feel grateful for the harsh winter weather. I used to make it for a cosy family New Year’s Day lunch, and still do happily, but it would be a shame to confine to just one annual outing. If you know you’re going to be out in the chill air and want something warming to greet you when you come back home, hands, nose and feet stinging from the cold, this is just what you need to have waiting for you. The soup can be made in advance (see Additional info below) up to the end of Step 4, though it will thicken considerably on standing, so you’ll need to add a little water when you reheat it. Once it’s bubbling and hot, you can get started on the frankfurters. And it’s easily veganisable: just leave the frankfurters out or replace them with plant-based versions, and use vegetable rather than chicken stock. Please read the Additional Information section at the end of the recipe before proceeding. For US cup measures, use the toggle at the top of the ingredients list.
...well i risked it - and i live :) Just as i stepped out of the door, the sun peeked through for a short moment - that's the only shot i got, before it disappeared again. Only one shot (Singh Ray 3 Stop Hard Grad ND Filter used to create the contrast between sky and field). Looks way better on Black

What happens when you take a giant balloon and inflate it inside a small space? These photos show just that—and the surreal dreamworlds that result, looking like a mix between the inside of a person's body and a ghostly construction site.
