"Discover the Timeless Elegance of Yuzen Chiyogami Washi Paper - A Celebrated Symbol of Japanese Craftsmanship Yuzen Washi Paper, also known as Japanese Chiyogami Paper, is a testament to the finesse and artistry deeply rooted in Japanese tradition. Immerse yourself in its exquisite designs and unparalleled quality that transcend generations. CRAFTSMANSHIP AND QUALITY: The creation of Yuzen Washi Paper is an art form in itself, steeped in tradition and meticulous attention to detail. Crafted using techniques passed down through generations, our Yuzen Washi Paper embodies the essence of Japanese heritage and artistry. Each sheet of Yuzen Washi Paper undergoes a painstakingly detailed creation process. It begins with the selection of natural fibers—Kozo, Mitsumata, and Gampi. These fibers are meticulously processed into a traditional base sheet, predominantly using high-content Kozo. Artisans then skillfully apply colors through the meticulous silkscreen technique, one hue at a time, onto the base sheet. This intricate process demands patience as each layer of color must fully dry before the next application, ensuring vibrant and lasting pigmentation. The final touch often includes a delicate gold or silver metallic overlay, enhancing the paper with a lustrous finish that catches light and mesmerizes the eye. Sogara yuzen is a different type of paper to chiyogami, the print is an entire scene covering the paper rather than a repeated pattern as is the case with chiyogami. Symbolic Japanese symbols such as cherry blossom representing the beauty and fragility of life or cranes to represent longevity are included in the motifs. The sheet is hand silkscreen printed with each colour applied separately with extremely fine detail. The inks used are of a high quality and very fade resistant. This print is ideal to put directly in a frame or can be used to make a screen or decorate furniture as the paper has long fibres making it very flexible. 63 cm high 46 cm wide
