Extremely Rare Original French Stone Lithograph L'Estampe Moderne..'Femme du Riffe' 1897. One of app. 50 Original Limited Edition Antique French Lithographs I have in my collection from the renowned French Art Nouveau L'Estampe Moderne collector series. NB: This is NOT a modern Print/Copy. It is an authenticated ORIGINAL Limited Edition Antique French Stone Lithograph. From the very first edition of the iconic L'Estampe Moderne collector series of Limited Edition prints comes this beautiful (and my very favourite) lithograph entitled 'Femme du Riffe' (Berber woman). Featuring a beautiful Berber woman in traditional costume, lit by a ray of sunlight it is signed and dated in the print upper right and bears the Blind stamp of authenticity lower right. By the noted French Orientalist painter Louis August Girardot (1856-1933), it was printed in Limited Edition of 1050 by Champenoise Paris in 1897. It was issued in May 1897, in a cover by Alphonse Mucha in an edition of 4 unique lithographs by well known Art Nouveau artists. It has some age foxing in the margin and is in very good Antique condition. The photo of the cover of the series is by Alphonse Mucha and is not for sale.

You feel suffocated and weighed down by some kind of invisible force. And you don’t really know why, but this force is relentless … No matter what you do, you carry this knotted heaviness inside everywhere you go. Nothing feels right anymore. You look at your life and marvel at how it doesn’t feel like ‘yours’ at all.
