This is a Dartington Crystal vase, hand engraved with an intricate illustration of a sunflower, surrounded by 5 honey bees. It is fully functional as a vase as well as a purely decorative work of art. This vase would be a great treat for yourself or a perfect gift for a beekeeper, bee lover or simply someone who enjoys nature. If desired this piece of crystal can be personalised with names, dates or up to six words free of charge creating a unique and personal keepsake that will last a lifetime. Each engraving is an original work of art, uniquely engraved so each one will differ ever so slightly from this picture. Drill engraving uses a diamond bur to mark the surface of glass. The technique I use is to carve deep into the glass to simulate depth when viewed from the other side. Then areas are polished and highlighted in such a way to enhance the features of the engraving and create light and shadow. All packaging i.e boxes and bubble wrap is reused/ recycled so that limited new materials are used. (Every little helps in the fight against global warming!) and therefore I do not offer gift wrapping or gift boxes. After something a little different?
