#12 is our new favorite red nail look.
Inspired by NailsbyAsami, using her towel-sponge technique. These were the colors that I used. Step 1: Apply base coat. Then 2 coats of OPI Ink as the base. Let dry. Step 2: Sponge on OPI DS Glamour. Step 3: Sponge on OPI What's Dune. Step 4: Sponge on Zoya Gaia. Step 5: Top it all off with 2 coats of OPI Text Me Text You. And that's all folks! Hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading! ❤
OPI's big Spring collection this year is inspired by Holland, "as seen in vivid tulips, windmill-dotted hillsides and bustling canals – the collection’s twelve shades offer a mixture of sophisticated neutrals and highly-pigmented brights." There are quite a few polishes in this collection that I'm sure are going to win the hearts of many polish enthusiasts out there. First is Did You ’ear About Van Gogh? which is a rather clever name. I am an art buff and actually adore Van Gogh. OPI describes this as a "sandy bisque" which is right on the money. It's a lovely neutral pale beige. It dries a touch darker than it appears in the bottle. This is two coats. Thanks a WindMillion is a gorgeous pale sea green. I really adore this, it's slightly dusty and subdued. When I first saw this, it reminded me of Mermaid's Tears from the Pirates collection, but it is darker and more muted. Here is Pedal Faster Suzi! I just did some research and found that Amsterdam might be the most bike-friendly city in the world. So the name makes sense :) This polish is a lavender tinged pink with lots of silvery white glass fleck shimmer. I wasn't too happy with this one's application. It was thin and pooled in my cuticles, which got the shimmer everywhere and was hard to get off my skin. I was surprised by how sheer it was, this is four coats. I Don’t Give a Rotterdam! is a cool-toned dusty steel blue full of shimmery glass flecks, both silver and pale gold. At certain angles, the flake shimmer bits almost look dark grey. I like this color very much. It's a unique finish for this color in my collection, it kind of reminds me of denim. This is two coats. I Have a Herring Problem is a similar finish and color as the previous polish, but it is different. It's warmer, almost a tone closer to teal rather than a cornflower. This one has a more prominent gold color to the flecks but I think there's some silver to them too. Two coats. Gouda Gouda Two Shoes is a brownish rose with sparse pinky gold sparkles. I am not in love with this color but I could see it working on someone with maybe a paler skin tone. This was thin, so I had to work to avoid cuticle pooling. This is two coats. This is Dutch ’Ya Just Love OPI? a lovely grape purple with reddish gold sparkle. This is very pretty, but not too original these days. Guess if you like OPI's formula then you'll choose this one over the dupes out there. This is two coats. Kiss Me on My Tulips is a bright hot pink. I might have seen this before, it's not super unique but it is very pretty. Plus the name is adorable. This is two coats. Red Lights Ahead…Where? is a mega bright coral red. I guess I don't get why they named this color as they did, highlighting a sex working district doesn't sound like a flattering way to advertise the country. *shrug* Oh well, whatddya gonna do? This is a nice crème and is very pigmented, two coats here. Wooden Shoe Like to Know? is a milk chocolate brown with coppery gold shimmer. It has the slightest purple tone to it which comes out more indoors than out in the sun. This is three coats. Wooden shoes are probably the first thing that pops into my mind when I hear "Holland", the second probably would be windmills :) This one is called A Roll in The Hague, which I had to look up to understand. (It's a city in South Holland.) This orange is super pigmented, it really stained my cuticles. It dries a little darker than it appears in the bottle. This swatch is two coats. Vampsterdam was probably my most anticipated polish in the collection when I saw the press release. It is a dark vampy aubergine frost. Very reminiscent of older OPIs like Black Tie Optional. This is two coats. I LOVE THIS! There are a tons of nail polish bloggers from the Netherlands and it always seems to me that they have the most beautiful nails! I'm super jealous of a lot of them :) I hope you like this review! Let me know what your picks are from the Holland collection, any of these speak to you? Products provided for review.

Hi everyone, I'm back with the second installment of OPI's Fall 2011 collection, Touring America. If you missed the first half, check it out here. Are We There Yet? is a orangey melon coral crème with a subtle sprinkling of pink and gold shimmer. This one had just an ok formula, two coats with some dragging. The shimmer is really light and easy to miss unless you're in bright sunlight. I was surprised this color was so vivid, it looks muted in the bottle. I Brake for Manicures is a great name for a polish, haha! I need a bumper sticker that says this. This color is pretty interesting, it's a deep dark, muted eggplant purple. This is two coats. Color to Diner For is an interesting color too, I don't think I have anything quite like it. It's a medium brick red that is very warm toned. The shimmer in this one is pretty spectacular, it's pink and gold, but it's really finely milled and catches the light really awesomely, like crystals. I think the more watery finish of the red allows the sparkle to be more center stage in this one than in the others. My Address is "Hollywood" is a very normal color, rose medium pink with subtle shimmer. I'm not in love with this but it's rather pretty. Slight dragging, two coats. Honk if you Love OPI is a vampy purple, more warm toned than I Brake for Manicures. It's a plummy shade and it looks purple, not black on the nail so that's a good thing for a vamp in my opinion. This is three coats. Last is I Eat Mainely Lobster, a pink coral shade that's (I'm guessing) universally flattering. Same shimmer as the other pinks in the collection, rather shy but pretty when it flashes in the sunlight. Two coats, no dragging on this one. Fun fact about me, I hate lobster :P but I like this polish haha. There ya have it, late enough for ya? I swear I got so backed up on collections this season. I'll be better in the winter ;) Products provided for review.
I'm not really sure what made me spontaneously buy the Peter Som collection from Zoya during NYFW (probably the fact that it was LE and had free shipping), but I'm glad I did! Zoya - Audrey Audrey is a pale, sheer pink jelly that has a nice glossy finish. This was the one I was most excited about because of its "revolutionary magical gel look." And the finish IS very nice, but the color is a bit uneven on its own. Not really streaky, but just more sheer in some spots and more opaque in others. Very light and feminine, and I like how it looks with three coats (shown). Zoya - Katharine My favorite of the collection. Katharine is a subdued plum/raisin jelly (it looks more eggplant in the bottle though) that is quite sheer on the first two coats, but builds up into a nice squishy jelly finish. For this swatch I used three thin coats, but I think it looked a little better the night before when I tried it with slightly thicker coats. Either way, it looks more even in person than in the pictures. I love that this is a more dusty/greyed shade of red purple. So chic and juicy. Zoya - Evvie Evvie is a very opaque dark sage grey creme. The only creme in the collection, it is completely opaque in two easy, thin coats. Again, very chic with a little bit of edge. Zoya really hits it home with their greens and this is no exception. I think it is also neutral enough to complement a variety of skin tones from cool to warm. Simple, but quite flattering. Overall I'm quite impressed with this whole set. All of the shades are nice, and Audrey is so unique! Unfortunately, the set was limited edition for NYFW and is currently sold out, but I've heard rumors of these colors making it into the Zoya core line this fall or so.
I am so late to this little party that I'm pretty sure it has ended and someone has befouled the garden beds. But let's go there anyway. ...
