Receiving no recognition from his father, mother or sister as an artist, and even less as a genius, Vincent Van Gogh

About Alina Maksimenko was born in 1974 in Kiev, Ukraine. In 1985-1988 she studied in Art School named after T.G. Shevchenko. In 1993 she graduated from Kiev Art College named after M. Boychuk. She had started her exhibition activity in 1996 Since 2001 she is a member of the BGART union of artists. Since 2003 she is a member of The Art Union of painters of Ukraine. A voyage from Connemara in Ireland to majestic Kiev in Ukraine brought me to the studio of Alina Maksimenko. It was here, on that grey autumn day, that I first met Alina and discovered her remarkable paintings. Whether one is admiring a harbour scene, a still life or a nude, painted by this talented young artist, one is immediately struck by her excellent composition and her extraordinary use of colour. Alina is spontaneous by nature and consequently having an open, natural and uninhibited manner, enables her to work both independently and with an obvious sense of freedom. Her confident lines are always loose and fluid; showing the observer her true quality and strength, which lies in her simplicity. Many people are inspired by Alinas work but, what I have noticed is that, a great many of these people are artists themselves that surely speaks volumes about Alina Maksimenko who is undoubtedly a shining star from the East. Having attended the openings of numerous exhibitions, showing Alinas work in both France and Ireland, I am delighted to see that she is receiving the recognition that she so well deserves. Izumi Kogahara / 川原泉 is an Japanese painter🎨, born in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. In 2000 she obtained her artistic diploma from the University with honors. Artist statement I would like to describe human beings’ original and complex inner mind with my own “words” (the way of presentation) by feeling energy from them.
Each one of Paul’s paintings contains amazingly textured, nearly sculptural, elements. They’re full of ridges and lines, canvas texture and piles of paint. . . all of which are working to either conceal or reveal the physical and emotional state of the subject.
