How Can We Use Engineering To Solve A Problem On The Playground? In this project, students use the Design Thinking Process to solve a problem they identify themselves on the playground. Each stage of the Design Thinking Process is broken down to have students work through a problem in groups, come up with solutions, prototype, get feedback and iterate. Finally they will produce an actual solution to a playground problem and exhibit this to other students. Communication, problem solving, creativity, and critical thinking skills will be highlighted in this engaging engineering challenge. This project is designed to have a structure compatible with implementing PBL in the classroom. NextLesson projects include certain key components that facilitate an authentic PBL experience.
