The dynamic lines that define the shapes as well as the background shadows are what influences the abstraction, creating a unique and colorful exploration with in the confines of a traditional still life. As an artist and creator, I am continually drawn to the idea of tradition as it relates to the present moment. Color is a key element within my work that I use to explore this idea. At times the colors can be exaggerated in both my landscapes and still life oil paintings. For me color is the heart of the work.
