In today's day and age it is incredibly important that our students can recognize and describe the text structures that they experience in their reading. Teaching students to recognize the underlying structure of texts can help readers focus attention on key concepts, relationships, and anticipate what's to come. Each double sided sheet provides a list of possible text structure, clear (yet challenging) examples for students to label, and space for them to provide the clues/reasoning they used for choosing their answers. Students will practice labeling and explaining their reasoning behind their answers with the outlined structures below: - Problem and Solution - Cause and Effect - Compare and Contrast - Order and Sequence - Description - Anecdote Included are five separate text sets to practice with that are themed around animals, sports, comic books, video games, and cell phones. Also included are answer sheets. Enjoy! ____________________________________________________________________________________ FEEDBACK FROM THE COMMUNITY ★These are perfect! My students loved using them to review text structure. ★This will be perfect for my informational text unit. Students will be completing this as one of their stations and it is a perfect review! Thanks! ★Great, easy to use, resource for the classroom. I used this as a quick tool for review with my students after taking notes. I even did an extension by asking them to pick a paragraph (they were in topic groups) and rewrite it in the other structures. Multiple uses, one resource! ★I found this a wonderful activity for my student to help with their understanding of text structure. Thank you!!! ____________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________ GRAMMAR PARTY!
