I created these supplemental worksheets to use with Singapore Math's Unit 6 (grade 1), which is one of the most challenging units for my first graders. They also support the Math in Focus and the Common Core Standards. In this unit, students build on their understanding of number bonds to decompose numbers and convert to an easier problem by "Making Ten". There is a scripted lesson demonstrating how I introduce the Make a Ten strategy in my classroom on the concrete level, and worksheets designed to move students through the pictorial and abstract levels. The worksheets included are: -Pictorial Make a Ten (without bonds) -Pictorial Make a Ten (without bonds) Homework -Pictorial Make a Ten with 9 as an Addend -Pictorial Make a Ten with 9 as an Addend Homework -Abstract Make a Ten with 9 as an Addend -Abstract Make a Ten with 9 as an Addend Homework -Pictorial Make a Ten with 8 as an Addend -Pictorial Make a Ten with 8 as an Addend Homework -Abstract Make a Ten with 8 as an Addend -Abstract Make a Ten with 8 as an Addend Homework -Pictorial Make a Ten with 6 or 7 as an Addend -Pictorial Make a Ten with 6 or 7 as an Addend Homework -Abstract Mixed Review -Abstract Mixed Review Homework -Pictorial Make Add the Ones -Pictorial Make Add the Ones Homework I hope these worksheets help your students as much as they have mine!
