NIFTY NOTION: Hex Nut Pattern Weights First, is a way-too-wordy video but I was too tired to do it again. I guarantee that you will know everything there is to know about these little jewels after watching this video plus a bunch of other stuff you couldn't care less about. I'll redo it when I get back home and I have a tripod. YAY! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0ta086obbo As I said in the video, I was at my MIL's house and needed a project. I decided to wrap my hex nut weights in grosgrain ribbon so they would match my other flat washer weights. In the pic below, I took two large FLAT washers and wrapped them together with grosgrain ribbon. Much harder than the Hex Nut type to wrap. As the Hex Nuts come from Ace Hardware in a box of 10: One on my thumb. Notice the yellow wrapped up one in the background. Here, I am starting to wrap. NO GLUE to start. Once you wrap the second time, the first wrap stays put. Almost all the way around. And all wrapped up and glued. Here is the glue I use. I keep it upside down in a mug because it is so thick it takes a long time to flow down to the tip. I cut the ribbon even with the top of the nut, and then I put a strip of glue on the length of that piece. Then I push my finger up through the bottom spreading the glue evenly on that cut piece. And, yes, you get glue all over your fingers! And if you wipe it off on a good rag or towel, you WILL NOT ever get it off again. Of course, that is the point of glue, isn't it? And HOW DARLING are these?! I love them. Someone should invent a game with them. Phylly says they should sell these Hex Nuts at JoAnn's and Hancock's. I agree! Still have to wrap the two boxes I bought the day I made the video. Maybe Phylly and I can do them together at ETA in Dallas in a few weeks. Hugs, Joy
