HISTORY The Palaces of St. Petersburg: Russian Imperial Style Exhibition (March 1 - August 31, 1996) The exhibit comprised five rooms, which were exact replicas of the palace rooms built by Russian craftsmen; and, adjoining displays of furniture, art and other objects from the palaces. The palace exhibit grew from the humanitarian effort by the Jackson medical community, which has donated more than $20 million in medicine, medical services, supplies and equipment to Russia over the past 10 years. In 1993, the Jackson group formed Mississippians Reaching Out. As a gesture of thanks, the Russian medical community in St. Petersburg offered to loan the priceless palace objects. In 1994, when the opportunity arose to develop this exposition, citizens throughout the state organized The Mississippi Commission for International Cultural Exchange Inc., a nonprofit educational and cultural organization ✿: View Other vintage brooches Here ✿: https://www.etsy.com/shop/BajanLizard?section_id=15528451 ✿ Return to Our Main Shop ✿: http://BajanLizard.etsy.com
